Blimey, people are getting way too mad over nothing. It’s just some marketing call, nothing major. My lad works for a marketing firm and honestly, they just want a couple of minutes tops. Out of nowhere, Thermogen gave me a ring and told me about a subsidy they had going on. They sent a guy round who checked out my loft. The bloke was really top notch and didn’t take more than an hour. He left me a report at no cost, which showed I'd got quite a bad damp problem starting in my beams. After Christmas, I plan to fix the insulation myself and they left me some great tips on how to do it on a budget and not too hard. Big thanks to Thermogen. Cheers, Mr and Mrs Johnson.

I’m signed up with the TPS, yet this number keeps ringing me. Any decent company wouldn’t be cold calling someone on the TPS list, so this has to be a dodgy outfit. According to the TPS, it’s actually against the law for any group, be it charities, voluntary groups, or political parties, to call numbers on the register unless they’ve got permission first.

Thermo gen were actually quite good. They sent a really friendly engineer to check out my loft. He was very professional and thorough in what he did during the inspection. Overall, they were great and helped me loads. They’re not all bad like some might say. From my experience, they did a solid job. I reckon people should maybe give them a fair go.

Got a silent call from a number, so I rang back and did a 1471 check. A lady from ‘customer services’ answered and said they were Thermagen. I was taken aback since Thermagen is listed as dissolved on Companies House. When I told her to stop calling, she asked if I was Mr Harrison - I said no. Then she claimed I was blowing it out of proportion over a mistaken number. I asked which number they’d dialled, but she just said “Goodbye” and hung up. Calling it a wrong number - clever twist on their dodgy tactics!

Got a call from a woman saying she wanted to check the loft insulation done by the company that first installed it about six years back. Thermogen is just the same rubbish. They use the "loft inspection" as a cover to get a salesman in. The comment from 21/6/17 is obviously from someone at the company. They completely ignore the fact that these calls happen even when you're on the do not call list, and they blatantly lie about "NHS warnings." The bloke even finishes with the daft "Don't knock it till you've tried it!" - well, good luck with your cordless bungee jumping then! Best bet is to resist - either hang up straight away or, if you're confident and know how to, keep them talking and waste their time.

What's the use of this if it never leads anywhere? If I want something, I'll just sort it myself. Don't need some annoying twat ringing me up and wasting my time. These muppets ought to be fined, like they talked about, but all I see is loads of folks fed up with these pointless speedway manhole inspectors.

I've been inundated with numerous sales calls from this firm. They claim that a nearby energy provider passed on my information, yet they refuse to share any specifics. The hard-sell tactics are quite off-putting-particularly grating coming from a Scottish accent! I've made it clear that I'll be reporting them to the Telephone Preference Service. It’s a shame for the elderly who have to endure these relentless calls.

I got a call, picked up the phone, but there was complete silence on the other end. I didn’t bother sticking around and just hung up. I suspect that these types of "ghost" calls are merely there to register that someone has actually answered.

This feels like a sneaky trick to dodge the cold calling rules. When you say yes to a "survey" or "inspection," it’s just a way to get their foot in the door. I had people ring me up wanting to do a visual check and even offered some kind of infra-red camera survey. They’re not connected to any official body or "government scheme" and are simply trying to bypass cold calling laws. Once you let the sales person (whatever fancy job title they use) into your house, you basically give up your right to cancel.

Got a call from 01213144698 a while back, they claimed they were working for the NHS to do a survey about spores in roofs. They offered a free roof check so I said fine just to see what was what. Later I looked them up and turns out they're one of those spray foam insulation firms trying to push their service on you. Best just not to bother with them.

A lady with an English accent rang me up mentioning something about Thermogen. She claimed there’s now a rule that homes must have their insulation checked every couple of years, which sounded dodgy to me. I told her that’s not true at all. It’s pretty concerning to see them using these false claims, and I really hope the proper people sort this out soon.
