I answered the call and was met with a complete hush. There was a fleeting female voice before it cut out, leaving only an unreachable buzzing on the line. I've since added this number to my blocked contacts list.

It’s absolutely dreadful to think about these bank fraudsters targeting vulnerable individuals. My heart truly goes out to those who might be frightened by such malicious schemes. Those responsible for this should certainly face justice and be put behind bars.

I had a call from an 01823 number recently, and I found myself in agreement with what others have mentioned regarding this matter.

Clearly a con. I received a call from an automated woman's voice purporting to be from 'bank security', discussing two transactions: £300 for Amazon and an £1,100 international transfer. The script was identical to a scam call I'd received earlier. I've since blocked the number and reported it.

I received a recorded message requesting my consent for withdrawals from my bank account. It prompted me to press either 1 or 2 for further action and claimed to be affiliated with my bank.
