Got a call today on my cell, but the number seemed dodgy since I'm pretty sure Birmingham codes don't start with 555 (like 0121 does). Didn't pick up and blocked it straight away.

I'm just 12 and my phone was actually switched off when these people tried to call me. It was only after I showed the number to my dad that we looked it up. So, to anyone who gets calls from these kinds of numbers or anything like it: don't pick up unless you can see who's calling.

They claimed someone from the Road Traffic Accidents team told them I was in a car accident. When I asked to talk to a manager, she just said "sorry, we're really busy, bye" and then ended the call. Probably a quick way to brush people off, eh?!

A woman rang me saying I’d been involved in a car crash. When I asked where they got this info from, she handed me over to her manager who claimed it came from the Road Traffic Accident Department. I asked which company was calling and they said Heart Elegance. I just told them I was hanging up and ended the call. Funny thing is, they never once used my name, so maybe they’re just dialing numbers randomly. If they call again, I reckon I’ll ask who they’re trying to reach.

Had a lady with a posh English accent tellin me I'd been in some kind of accident... I just put the phone down straight away. This was the first dodgy call I've had. My other half has had calls like this a few times recently, all startin with a Birmingham area code but the numbers always change. We're pretty sure Tesco Mobile, which uses the O2 network, must've leaked our numbers to these scammers.

Avoid answering this number! It’s a scam where they reverse the charges. They’re using Sweden’s code so +46 pops up before the 44 and then the 0121 number.

Got a call saying 'we’ve been told you’ve had an accident'. It was a recorded lady asking generic questions. When I gave nonsense replies it just hung up on me. I’ve blocked this number plus 4 others which all had the same woman’s voice. Seems like they use loads of different numbers. Probably best just to ignore and not pick up so they don’t know your line is live.

Hartilligent - the first lady you hear is actually a recorded voice - once you agree that you have had an accident in recent years, they connect you to a proper person in a call centre - thats when you can have a bit of fun and give them a bit of whatfor.
