5 yearsI got a call from someone claiming to be Virgin Media, but the accent sounded Asian. They said there was a problem with my router and told me to download an app that would fix it. After I installed it, they asked for an activation code that popped up - I got suspicious and didn’t give it to them. I hung up and removed the app straight away. Turns out, that app could’ve let them see all my banking info and passwords on my computer! I rang Virgin Media myself and they confirmed it wasn’t them and it was a scam.
