We placed an advertisement on Gumtree and received an email from [email protected]. The individual claimed they would settle the payment via PayPal and requested that we send the item to Nigeria. Strangely enough, we went ahead and shipped it off without a hint of suspicion! Looking back, it seems absurd that we didn’t see any red flags at the time-still trying to wrap my head around when we might actually receive our payment.
