We've recently received a call from a number that seems rather dodgy, and we're uncertain if it's a scam or not.

Just like Tony, but this one went by Garry Johnson. Supposedly from the Windows Maintenance Department! Tried to convince me he could "boost my computer’s performance"! I had to cut the call short due to a different incoming call! He’s keen on me returning the call!

Today, on the 10th of November, 2011, I received a rather dubious call purportedly from "Microsoft". The chap on the other end introduced himself as "Chris Martin" and provided the number 0121 288 0862 for me to verify his identity. He went on to claim that my computer was riddled with over thirty viruses, which supposedly flagged up to Microsoft Windows, putting all my data in jeopardy. I fired off a few questions, and it didn’t take long for me to figure it was all a load of nonsense. The call was apparently from overseas, and the caller had a pronounced Asian accent, with a cacophony of background noise evident. Despite my clear scepticism, he kept pushing his narrative, making his intentions all too apparent.
