Phoned my mobile and insisted it wasnt a sales call, asking for someone who wasnt me. I told them they had the wrong number. Then they asked if this was the address they mentioned. I said its a mobile number, and he went on about checking gas supply to offer a £20k energy grant - but he didnt even have the right name! Definitely sounded like a scam to me.

He kicked off by sayin "No sales call, I promise." The quickest way to shut it down is to say you've moved into a Housing Association place, and they seem to lose interest straight away. The bloke on the phone was quite polite mind.

I stuck with the call just to see what it was about. They said they’re from an energy-saving firm, aiming to help reduce people’s carbon footprints. When I mentioned I don’t use gas or oil heating and rely on a wood burner, they quickly lost interest and said they’d remove me from their call list. Make sure to follow their steps, send all the info they ask for to the NFIB, then just block the number to keep safe.

They say they’re from some energy saving company, but don’t believe it!!! They’re total scammers, really risky. Their main aim is to grab your bank info and then drain your account dry. Best thing is to just ignore and block them if you can. I told the police about their number but I’m not sure they’ll do anything because they keep swapping numbers and might not even be operating here.

Today, I received a call from a lady with a Welsh accent. I politely explained to the person on the phone that I had recently experienced a loss in my family and was not in a position to handle their call regarding the boiler replacement. However, despite my situation, they persisted in their efforts to persuade me to change my boiler. It is truly astonishing that they showed no understanding or empathy in such a difficult time. Their behaviour was absolutely appalling. Feeling overwhelmed, I had no choice but to end the call and couldn't help but burst into tears afterwards.
