Got a call from a guy named Tom, sounded proper posh with a UK accent, saying he was from UK Eco Innovations Group. He told me the insulation I’d got done was causing condensation and said no one had checked it for over a year. Said he could send someone round today! Like that’s happening in the middle of a pandemic?! The number showed up as +01202925428 or something international. Asked him how he found my number and he just hung up on me. Total scam, watch out!

Today I got two calls from this guy called Tom, just like what others are saying. The way he spoke, with those weird pauses and that same robotic tone, made it obvious it was some sort of automated message. He kept talking about loft insulation that we supposedly got done, but we never had any of that done at all. Definitely felt like a scam or some pointless spam.

Got a call from this number saying the government installed loft insulation at my place and it needed an inspection. The guy on the line, said his name was Tom, sounded polite but it was clearly an automated message - it kept pausing weirdly and there were strange silences. I told them straight up it was a scam and blocked the number. Watch out for this! Apparently, while one person distracts you by "checking" the loft, another sneaks in to nick stuff from your home. Proper dodgy.

Got the exact same caller that others have mentioned here. For the sake of your vulnerable mates and neighbours, BE WARNED. Tom seemed like a genuine and polite bloke, definitely didn't come across as some call centre. Lucky for me, I haven't had any loft insulation done, so I clocked it right away as a con.

I didn’t bother answering when it rang, and it just stopped right after my voicemail started, which is my usual move since real people normally leave a message. Maybe next time I’m feeling up to it I’ll answer to see what it’s about, then I can give a heads up to others about what kind of call it was.

When I get calls from numbers I don’t know I just let it go to voicemail and don’t bother to reply. These sorts of calls are really messing up the phone networks because it feels like all the junk callers are using these spoofed numbers. I’m not sure if any real effort is being made by officials after we report these annoying calls. Still, it’s good to have somewhere to flag them up, so cheers for offering that option.

Got a call from Tom who talked about my loft insulation issues. It seemed believable at first, but the call ended suddenly before he could explain what the problem was. I looked up the number just to be safe, and now I’m definitely not picking up if he rings again!

Got a call from this number earlier today but didn’t pick up since it wasn’t familiar. After checking it out here, I’ve gone ahead and blocked it. What’s odd is that this is a brand new number of mine that I’ve never shared with anyone, not friends or family, so it seems like some utility company must have handed it over to these dodgy callers. Really feels like something needs to be done to put an end to this.

Had a call from some bloke called "Tom" who reckoned my loft insulation was a hazard or something!! Total load of rubbish as we ain't even got any up there. This is the second time I’ve had a ring from him, the first time he used another number and just hung up on me halfway through. Honestly, "Tom" is a right nuisance. Do yourself a favour and find something better to do, mate!

Got a call earlier today about some stories I'd seen in the Daily Telegraph and on BBC News claiming my loft insulation might be messing up my house with moisture damage. I told them there’s no damp or any problems at all, but the bloke kept pushing for a free inspection. He said his manager would give me a ring to sort out a time. When I asked a few more questions, he just dropped the call. Honestly, I wouldn’t trust this lot to book anything with you.

Here we go again, that Tom bloke about loft insulation. This time he called from another number, but it was exactly the same spiel. Last month he was ringing me from a Bournemouth number. Looks like Tom likes to use every phone he can find. Honestly, in this day and age, you'd think there would be tech to block this stuff. The TPS clearly isn't doing the job properly.

Got a call earlier today about something I’d read in the Daily Telegraph and seen on BBC News regarding the loft insulation I had put in. They said it might be causing damage because of condensation. I told them there’s no signs of any damp or damage at all, but the caller kept pushing for a free inspection. Just like many others sharing their stories here, I received a rather dubious call from a chap named Tom regarding a loft installation I'd recently had done. He claimed there was some sort of issue but insisted it could be sorted if I remained on the line. Now, I'm not a fan of those automated calls-always frustrating-so I played along for a bit. When I probed whether he represented a government entity or was part of a private outfit, he dodged the question, saying his manager would clarify that in a follow-up call. At that point, I had enough and told him where to shove it. - caller: Tom

I received a rather peculiar call from a chap named Tom, who claimed to represent some sort of government initiative related to loft insulation funding. Just as he began rambling on about the supposed benefits of loft insulation, I interrupted him to request details about his company. To my surprise, he promptly cut the line! It’s maddening how these individuals are so reluctant to share any legitimate company information. I can’t shake the feeling that I’m dealing with a bunch of fraudsters here. It’s hard to believe the government would actually back something like this. This situation strongly reminds me of that dodgy boiler replacement scheme from a few years back. Honestly, why are these characters always trying to pull the wool over our eyes?

When I got back, noticed I’d missed a call. The phone just said ‘international’ but when I checked by dialling 1471, it showed the actual number. Looks like someone overseas trying to hide where they’re calling from. Definitely fishy! Tried calling them back and the line was dead - no such number.

My phone showed the caller as "international" so I answered but stayed quiet. There was complete silence from the other end before they just hung up. I had to use 1471 to find out the number because it didn’t show up properly. Not sure how these calls end up flagged as international when they might not be - maybe they're faking the number and it appears as a UK one when you check it. I always search the number when this happens and as usual, it was a scam, so I blocked it straight away.

Got a call from some bloke named Tom about government-funded loft insulation. Told him he’d got the wrong number straight away, but he was pretty pushy with a firm ‘no’ so I ended the call. Then he rang back about an hour later, saying it was regarding the insulation they’d just put in. I told him we hadn’t had any work done and he just hung up on me. Just got a call from Somerset, so add that to the list! Number started 0121, but I have no mates in Birmingham at all. Best thing to do is just chuck all unknown numbers in here, check for any notes on them. If nothing shows, I ring back pretending to order a cab, act a bit miffed about the mix-up. Keep a whistle ready too - if some foreign voice answers, give it a blast and hopefully scare them off! That really puts a stop to things.

Got calls from 0121 2855257 a couple of times yesterday, comes from Birmingham, definitely a scam. Then there was 01202925381 from Bournemouth, they rang us three times on 16th Jan 2020 about some government loft insulation scheme? We’ve put both numbers on the block list on our landline, which isn’t listed anywhere.

Got a call the other day from someone claiming to be doing a government survey about dodgy loft insulation. They were asking loads of personal stuff like my age and other details. Seemed a bit off to me, might be a scam trying to get info. Watch out for these!

Got a call regarding some condensation issues in our loft. The caller mentioned they knew we had recently put insulation up there. When my missus asked if he was from a private company or some government body, he just ended the call right away. Watch out, sounds like a new kind of scam to me.

Got a call from Tom yet again! Told him he probably dialled the wrong number and he just hung up on me. Said something about government-backed loft insulation. Pretty strange!

Got a call from someone saying they were Tom and wanted to talk about loft insulation. Strange cos we run a shop and have no loft at all, never even asked about any insulation!

This number has called me a couple of times, both times someone was talking about loft installations. Pretty odd!

They hung up before I even picked up. Didn’t bother leaving a message or anything.

Got a call saying there was some sort of Government Scheme for loft insulation. We actually had insulation put in a while back. The guy mentioned that the insulation might be causing condensation issues, and then said his manager would ring back in about 15 minutes to talk about maybe spraying the roof’s interior instead.

Got a call from a guy saying he was from loft repairs, which is kinda funny since she lives in a ground floor flat! She’s in sheltered housing and trusted that her manager would handle these things, so she just ended the call. I feel some folks might get pretty upset or worried after calls like that.

It seemed like they were fishing for my personal info, definitely a scam attempt.

Got a call about insulating my loft, but I wasn’t really bothered so I ended up just putting the phone down after a bit.

Got a call from some loft insulation firm saying I'd just had insulation fitted - which I definitely hadn't! They mentioned some article in the Telegraph about issues, trying to scare me into agreeing to a survey and then some work. Pretty clear tactic to push vulnerable folks into spending money they don’t need to.

Total rip-off! I've had my number on the Do Not Call list for ages and still got this call, so I reported it to the Telephone Preference Service.

Got a call from some firm asking about loft insulation. Didn’t want to chat so I blocked the number straight away.

They ring at various times, but whenever I actually pick up, it’s just some automated voice saying thanks for calling! It’s super irritating. Probably some dodgy marketing or spam call, I reckon.

Got a call on my landline from someone saying “Hi, this is Tom returning your call about government-funded loft insulation”. I told them they had the wrong number. There was a bit of dead air for about a minute, then I just ended the call. I’m registered with the TPS so these sorts of calls shouldn’t even be happening. Plus, I don’t even have a loft! Really annoying.

I just picked up and said hi, but the person on the other end hung up straight away. After seeing what others have said here, I’d say best to just block this number if it rings you again.

Got a call about loft insulation from Tom, but it was just a robot. No real person at the other end, and if you stay silent, it just disconnects on its own.

I don’t have my number listed publicly and I’m awaiting a crucial call from my GP. - any idea who might be calling?

I received a call from someone who introduced himself as Tom, claiming he was following up about some loft insulation. I informed him that I hadn’t had any installed. Without further ado, he ended the call. Clearly, a scam attempt!

On the 21st of January 2020, we received an unexpected phone call from this particular number. The caller alleged that insulation had been fitted in our loft, which is quite bizarre considering we’ve never had any such work done and we’re ex-directory. What a bunch of swindlers! - caller: 01212855257

Today, on the 21st of January 2020, I received a rather puzzling phone call. A chap named Tom was on the other end, going on about how I had my left insulation fixed not too long ago! With a bit of cheek, I replied, “Well, I’m Dick, and my brother’s Harry!” 😂 Quite amusingly, he didn’t stick around to chat any further and promptly hung up! Quite the unexpected call, indeed! - Caller: Tom - regarding misplaced insulation.

Received a rather official sounding call today, 21st January. The chap on the line claimed it was in relation to the loft insulation that was previously installed. Curious about the issue, I inquired what the fuss was about. He mentioned a concern regarding damp and mould, suggesting a visit the very next day to investigate. Given the multitude of scam calls I’ve been bombarded with lately, I hesitated and glanced over at my husband, who promptly signalled for me not to engage. Just then, the caller asked, “Are you the property owner?” Thank goodness I instinctively said no and hung up!

Received a phone call around 5 this evening. The bloke on the other end introduced himself as Tom, claiming he was inquiring about the government-subsidised loft insulation I supposedly had installed. I replied that I hadn’t the foggiest about it, and just like that, he abruptly disconnected. Clearly, it’s just a scam or an utter waste of time!

I received a call from this number but didn’t catch it in time. After reading through the remarks, I've decided to add it to my blocked contacts. It's a real shame that these types of callers can just acquire a new number from their provider, meaning we might end up getting yet another annoying call that seems to have some legitimacy. It's baffling that companies like BT don't put a stop to this practice if it is, indeed, so easy. By the way, it was a missed call and there was no message left.

I got a call from someone saying they were from the UK Advisory Eco Innovations Group. It was a cold call, and strangely they only seemed to know about our loft insulation but nothing else at all. When I tried to get the caller’s name, they just ended the call on me. Proper odd behaviour.

I got a call from some bloke named Tom who said he was ringin' me back about gov-funded loft insulation they supposedly put in my attic. Total con. I ain't had any insulation added upstairs. I just told him "No thanks!" and hung up straight away. This was actually the second time he’s called me, once even on my work phone.
