5 yearsGot a call from a scammer who must’ve got my number through dodgy means. Already put in a report about it.5 yearsi had a missed call show up on my phone but since there wasnt any message i decided not to call back or bother with it further.5 yearsjust got a call from some dodgy call centre, full of scams. really fed up with them keep ringing me. why arent authorities cracking down on these rude, dishonest firms already?? totally annoying!5 yearsMy phone rang from an unknown number, but I didn’t pick up and waited for it to go to voicemail. Nobody left a message, which is unusual since real callers always do. So, I’m pretty sure this was a dodgy call.5 yearsSome idiot called me claiming to be from the accounts department, asked for my bank info to 'update' my direct debit and warned I could get fined for missing a payment. I asked for his name - he said Mr Gupta - and the call reference, which was something like acc/1787-6. Then I told him I was going to report him, his number, and the scam to the police for fraud. He hung up straight away. Proper muppet.Gupta6 yearsI had a right run-in with a spammer who was trying to convince me to upgrade my EE contract. When I politely refused, his behaviour took a nasty turn and he became quite impolite.EE6 yearsGot a call from 0121285311, some bloke from "compare the something" or whatever, saying he was ringing about my 3 mobile contract. Told him straight up I've got no contract with them. Then he asks if I'd ended it lately, said nope. Then he just hangs up on me without a word. Proper rude and clueless. Don't waste your time picking up, I blocked him right away.3 Mobile6 yearsI got a phone call from a woman claiming to be from Compare the Market, saying she wanted to talk about my EE contract. I told her I’ve never even been with EE and asked where she got my number from. She replied that her colleague had spoken to me sometime last year. I didn’t bother with her and hung up, then blocked the number straight away!Compare the MarketEE6 yearsThis number rang me, I usually ignore calls from unknown numbers but every now and then I answer just in case it’s something important. Sadly, plenty of folks don’t show their caller ID or still feel the need to pick up every unknown call, worried they might miss something vital. It’s so wrong that some people stoop so low to scam others, stealing info and possibly cash. I really can’t understand how they live with themselves doing that.6 yearsI received a call from a supposed representative of a firm named Compare The Networks, claiming to follow up on an inquiry I never made regarding a phone upgrade. As I’m registered with the Telephone Preference Service, I promptly informed them they were in violation of GDPR regulations. After a bit of digging, I discovered that the real company is located in Shrewsbury, not Birmingham, and I've already notified them about this phishing attempt using their identity. A quick search on various "who called" platforms revealed this number is associated with numerous dubious activities, including some that sound quite dodgy related to insurance. I strongly advise against answering!Compare The NetworksTelephone Preference ServiceShrewsburyBirmingham7 yearsThis number has rung me quite a few times now, but I've never picked up.7 yearsReceived a call from this number on my phone today, even though I'm on the TPS list. The bloke talked really quickly, so I couldn’t make out which company he was from. He was pushing life insurance. I told him I don’t talk about personal stuff over the phone and hung up straight away.Telephone Preference ServiceSubmit Your Own Report (0121 285 3116)
