I've been getting persistent calls from this number that just won’t quit. Each time they ring, it’s only for a brief moment - barely enough to even answer - and they never bother to drop a voicemail. It’s quite dodgy, if you ask me, and I can’t shake the feeling that it’s some sort of callback scam lurking about.

I received a phone call from a woman who had a distinctive South African accent. She seemed to know my name and was quite keen on discussing my life insurance policy, probing me about my overall health and the like. Then, a bloke popped onto the line asking her for an account number, which instantly raised my suspicions. I decided to hang up. Not long after, they attempted to ring me again, but I chose to ignore it.
