The number on caller ID was 01212851788. A lady with a Scottish voice rang about changing our boiler. She guessed it was older than 8 years but still asked exactly how old and if it was there when we moved in. I told her if we ever needed a new boiler, I'd prefer a local firm - she claimed they were local. I questioned how someone calling from a Birmingham number could be local to me here in Yorkshire. She replied they operate nationwide and she was actually calling from the main office in Glasgow. Calling from a Birmingham number just seemed really dodgy to me.

They've rung me up twice and just dropped the call as soon as I answered, so I've blocked the number now. Honestly, why isn't the TPS doing anything about this?

After loads of silent rings from that number, finally spoke to someone - turned out to be about boiler replacements. Wasnt best pleased when I asked why they were cold calling me cos I thought that was banned now. They said sorry and said they’d take my number off their list - please do. Then they just ended the call.

Got a call from a lady with a Scottish accent saying she was with the national heating help service, telling me I might get a grant since my boiler’s supposedly over 8 years old. When I asked how she knew that, seeing as it isn't, she just went quiet. Then she wanted to know what kind of fuel I used. I told her if she actually knew the install date, she’d know that too, but she started rattling off something about data protection laws. I just chuckled and ended the call.

Got a call at 17:29, it only rang around 4 times before stopping just as I was reaching for the phone. From what I've seen here and on similar sites, it looks like one of those sales cold calls. I’ve never had anything to do with this number or company, and I’m signed up with the TPS. Seems like they’re ignoring those rules plus the new GDPR data law from 2018.
