Got a call from some Irish bloke called Lee, said he was from Horizon. He knew my name and wanted a chat about electricity and gas. If he actually knew where I lived, he’d know I ain’t got mains gas! Another energy firm claiming to be cheaper than your current supplier and all that rubbish. What a load of nonsense, total waste of time. When will these daft fools understand cold calling is banned now?

People ringing up about energy deals, asking to chat with our MD - don’t these folks get that the MD probably isn't gonna want to discuss our energy contract every other minute? Plus, when we take the time to pick up, hear them out and explain things, why are they so flipping rude as to just cut off the call without even a simple "cheers - bye"? I get they're busy and have loads of calls to get through, but a bit of manners doesn’t cost anything!

Got a call from Charles Ford at E.S.O who went on about my contract ending and prices rising by 40%, asking me to sign a letter of authority so he could send renewal offers and stop the price hike. I told him I didn’t need to sign anything just to see prices, and he just chuckled and said he was new at this. Couldn’t even find their company online, so I’m steering clear for sure!

These folks keep ringing us up, insisting they're after the bar's owner. Every time we attempt to clarify that the owner is satisfied with our current arrangements, they respond with a promise to ring again. When we mention that it's a managed establishment, they get quite short-tempered and abruptly end the call. Honestly, we have zero interest in what they’re pushing! They rang me saying they were the eso for ofgem, wanting to sell some ‘free’ service to take off a clause from our contracts so they don't switch to variable rates later. I didn’t like how pushy she was or how she acted like I had to give my info just because she said it was ‘official’. I told her I wouldn’t be daft enough to let any contracts expire like that, so no way was I interested in her changing them to “protect” me! She hung up on me pretty quick after that.
