Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent claiming to be from British Gas. She told me we were behind on our bill (which we actually are) and offered to settle it quickly on our behalf. What really spooked me was how she seemed to know we’re pensioners - how on earth did they find that out? It’s a pretty smart scam, and it makes me worried about older people getting caught out by this.

Loads of times I've been getting calls from people with Asian accents claiming to be from British Gas about my account. They always ask to talk to the account holder and say they need to check some details with me. I always tell them if they're really from British Gas, they must already have all that info and I’m not giving anything out. Most of the time they just hang up after that, but if they don’t, I make sure to end the call myself!

Had a call from a guy with an Asian accent claiming to be from British Gas. I mentioned I'd only just got a letter from them. He hung up right after that. This is the second time they’ve tried this in two days. Bit suspicious, huh?

Got a call from some bloke claiming he was with British Gas, asking for some kind of verification. I told him "you sent me a letter earlier today" and he just dropped the call. Same thing happened yesterday too, pretty certain it was the same guy. Bit fishy if you ask me.

Turns out I’d been slow on sorting my Gas bill - all paid up now though.
Eventually thought maybe they were after my card info. Bit of a relief I wasn’t around then.

So this bloke claiming to be from British Gas kept hassling me for my card info on the phone. I told him I always pay online and refused to give any details. Spent ages, like half an hour, on this nonsense! Felt like he was working remotely or summat, 'cause he kept chucking me on hold whenever I started questioning him back. Proper frustrating!

Got a call from someone claiming I owed money to British Gas and asking me to pay right there on the phone. Definitely not from British Gas though. Watch out and don’t share any personal details with them.
