I reckon these lot must be getting your number from ads you put up on sites like Gumtree. I had something listed there and not long after, two different calls came through asking if I’d been in a crash. Sounds like a car insurance con to me.

Got a voicemail claiming I was in a car crash. When I asked who was on the line, the person replied with "is that right?" I told them no and asked where they got that from, then the call just cut off. So odd!

I picked up and said nothing, just kept listening and suddenly a recorded voice kicked in, "Hi, it’s Kirsty from 'some company'," then there was a long pause before it went on, "when did the accident happen?" Sat through it till they finally hung up. Seriously, don’t get caught by this trick! It’s so sneaky how it sounds like a real person, I can imagine elderly people finding it really convincing!

Just a heads up, don’t pick up if it’s from that number - it’s definitely not legit, probably one of those dodgy scams. Better safe than sorry, just ignore it.
