They’ve rung me several times today - a very polite young woman said she was from a pension review firm and asked me to confirm my pension details. When I told her it was my own matter and declined their help despite having had about 10 calls in the past few weeks, she was really sorry. (She probably doesn’t fully realise the sort of company she works for.) I’ve asked once more to be removed from their call list. Some bloke with a weird sniffing habit rang me, sounding clueless. He mumbled where he was calling from, and when I asked him to say it again and how he had my number, he claimed "you obviously did a pensions survey", which is rubbish, I worked in pensions for seven years and never filled out any form! He kept talking over me so I just ended the call. These unasked-for calls are against the law - make sure you report them and block the number.

Just had a chat with their "manager" Charlie, who insisted they hadn't called me hundreds of times, said maybe it was another firm. Then he claimed that legally they can ring at least a dozen times even if you ask them to stop. They couldn’t care less about people just posting about it online, but they do take action when they get proper reports from the ICO. It only takes a couple minutes to do on their website. Don’t bother with your phone provider - they’re more interested in selling caller ID services and making money from call blocking than actually stopping the junk calls.
