01212703735 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01212703735 👆 is reported as a persistent scam call frequently associated with false claims of refunds on washing machine warranties or home appliance cover. Callers, often with strong South Asian accents, impersonate companies like 'Homecare' or 'Homeserve,' citing refunds typically around £119-£190. They attempt to obtain bank details, usually sort codes and account numbers, under various pretences while refusing to provide verifiable contact information or send official correspondence. Many recipients report abrupt hang-ups when questioned, poor English, and calls from multiple spoofed or changing numbers. This scam has targeted vulnerable groups, including the elderly. Blocking the number offers limited relief due to frequent number changes, so it is advised to avoid engagement, not disclose any personal or financial details, and report attempts to Action Fraud and relevant authorities for effective monitoring.

I got a call from 01212703733 the other day. A woman with a strong accent said she was ringing from Virgin Media about a problem with our internet connection. I played along for a bit and she asked when I first noticed the internet acting up. I replied, "If you're really from Virgin Media and calling about a fault, you’d surely already know when the problem began?" She immediately ended the call after that. Definitely a scam, no doubt about it.

Ah great, here we go again with that monthly nuisance. Just got hit with that same appliances scam like others mentioned for this phone number. I was actually waiting on a call so I answered, only to find they now know my line’s active. After that, the calls just don’t stop. Usually I just ignore unknown numbers and the spam stays low. It’s annoying though, ‘cos sometimes you really need to pick up - like when you’re expecting a package and the delivery person rings for directions. Gotta admit, I appreciate everyone who’s been posting about this number. Helps to stay warned!

The call came from a number I didn’t know, so I just let it ring out to voicemail. Nothing was left in the message, which made me a bit wary. I checked it on here and realised I was spot on to ignore it. I’ve blocked the number now to be safe.

Got a call from an Asian lady claiming I was owed £119 refund on my washing machine insurance, haha! She said she needed my bank details, just my sort code and account number to sort it out. If that was true, she’d already have everything anyway. Told her no thanks and ended the call. Makes me wonder how many folks actually fall for this, especially the elderly!

Someone rang me up and just stayed quiet at first. Then a lady asked to speak to someone I didn’t know. I asked her who she was, but she just hung up without saying a word. I didn’t share any info or confirm the name she was asking about.

I’ve received multiple phone calls from what seems to be various UK numbers, all requesting me by name and claiming that I’m entitled to a £119 refund for an overpayment with Home Care. Each time, the caller has had an Indian accent, and there’s a noticeable din of call centre chatter in the background. Be cautious and don’t fall for these calls! They’re clearly up to no good, trying to get hold of your banking information.

Got a call earlier saying I’d overpaid by £119 on something. I told them, “Yeah right, I don’t overpay for stuff,” and hung up quick. Definitely a scam, no doubt. Glad I was on the ball and didn’t get caught out this time.

Some lady called saying she was from home care and that I had a refund coming for a washing machine. When I asked her to just send me a cheque, she suddenly said she couldn’t do that. Bit of a weird one, if you ask me!

The person on the phone had a really thick Asian Indian accent and was hard to make out. They said they were calling from some sort of ‘home care’ and wanted to give me a refund for a washing machine warranty. I asked when I bought the washing machine, but they just said they didn’t know. I told them, “If you don’t have that info, how can you refund anything? What do you want from me exactly?” Then they just ended the call.

Got a call from Homecare who were really pushy, claiming I was sold a washing machine or warranty ages ago that I never agreed to. They said they’d give me £119 back if I provided my bank sort code and account number, but they kept stressing they didn’t want credit card info. I asked them for something in writing to explain it all, but they wouldn’t do it and just kept pushing, so I ended up hanging up. I’d had a very similar call from a different number the day before - 01439339269.

No doubt about it, that was a fraudulent call! The woman's grasp of English was quite lacking, yet she attempted to inform me that I'd been unfairly charged for a washing machine warranty and was offering a £119 refund. It’s the second time I've received such a call, albeit from a different number. I made it clear I was onto her game and promptly ended the conversation!

Had a call from some typical Indian scam artists pretending to offer a warranty refund. They keep switching up their phone numbers, using fake 012 and 020 UK codes. I actually spoke to the same lot just recently from a different but very similar number. Absolute lowlifes, preying on old folks and those who barely understand these tricks. Makes you wonder what their families would say about them scamming innocent people like that. Reported them straight away to Action Fraud.

I received a call at 08:38 on the 21st of May, 2022, from a woman with an Indian accent who claimed I was entitled to a refund for an overpayment of £119 related to my Home Care washing machine cover. When I expressed my reluctance to disclose any bank details, she insisted she wasn't asking for my bank card number. I pointed out that since my payments had been conducted via direct debit, they ought to be able to process an automated refund. Her response was an odd excuse, stating they supposedly lacked access to those records. I explained that if they had my address, which they should, they could just post a cheque instead. She absurdly suggested I retrieve my cheque book, so I decided to humour her to see where this was headed. Ultimately, she requested my sort code and account number from the bottom of the cheque. I reiterated my position multiple times, suggesting they send me a written confirmation of the refund's legitimacy, allowing me to contact them later. I made it clear that if this was genuine and they failed to send anything, I would consider legal action against Home Server. Conversely, I mentioned that if this was a scam, she wouldn’t be getting any of my banking details. Shortly after, she abruptly hung up.

She then ended the call quickly without saying anything else. Pretty certain this is a scam, especially considering I got two other calls yesterday from different numbers like this.

Got a call from someone claiming we were due a refund on our washing machine insurance. She said she was calling from Home Care and that we had £119 coming back. Then she asked for our bank details to sort the refund. That’s when we clocked it was dodgy. The number she used was 01212703735.

A similar number rang me a couple days back and I ignored it, so I figured I’d do the same this time. Later, I managed to check who might be behind it and it looked like a scam, so definitely best to avoid.

This number has been ringing us off and on, but usually when we pick up no one's there - just silence. Today though, someone actually spoke, asking for 'Gloria', who doesn’t live here at all. Then they went on about some refund from Hotpoint, which I reckon is total rubbish. These lot are nothing but scammers in my book. We shouted down the phone so loudly, hoping we've rattled their ears for good!

Not sure what that was about, they rang my work phone but it never actually rang through, just showed as a missed call. Since only people I know from work would be calling me on that line, and seeing the other comments here, I’m guessing it’s probably some kind of scam.

This number rang earlier today but thanks to our BT Call Blocker, which filters unknown numbers, the phone never actually sounded. They didn’t identify themselves when we checked missed calls, so we never got the chance to answer on purpose. Not leaving a voicemail just made it sound even more dodgy. After reading what others said about this number, we've decided to block it completely.

Got a call claiming I was paying too much on a washing machine warranty. When I questioned the guy, he actually got the right brand of my machine, which surprised me. I just told him maybe there’s been some kind of mix-up since I can’t really afford to run the washing machine much anyway. After that, he said they wouldn’t bother me again. Honestly, that’s perfectly alright with me!

I just received a rather dodgy call from someone claiming to be from Homecare. They insisted that I was owed a refund of £119 due to an error on their part with my account. I received a peculiar call today from someone claiming I had overpaid my washing machine insurance by £192. They asked for my bank details so they could transfer the funds directly. I opted out of that and requested a cheque instead. To my surprise, they insisted on needing a cheque reference number, which I found rather odd. I simply told them to send the cheque without the number, and just like that - they hung up! Makes you think, doesn’t it? What a strange turn of events!
