After about half a minute, a bloke asked for me by name and claimed I’d taken some finance out before 2012 and might be owed a refund. This is the first time I've gotten a call from that number. They mentioned they were calling from Birmingham. When I picked up, there was silence at first, then an automated message said "connecting you to an agent," but after a couple of beeps, the call just ended. Got a call earlier today from someone saying I’d overpaid for a hire purchase back in 2011. I told them I don’t even use hire purchase, and the woman on the phone suddenly couldn’t find any info. Total rip-off! They rang me about four times, and I finally picked up. They tried to get me to spill details about some loan I never even applied for, but when I couldn’t provide dates or info, they said “can’t access your data.” How do they even get your number then? Absolutely clueless.
