Got a call from a woman who sounded like she was either Australian or from New Zealand, claiming she was with Wavenet.co.uk. She started asking me about a direct debit that was apparently cancelled. The moment I began to ask her some questions, she got really grumpy. Seems like it was probably a scam to me.

Kept ringing up to push new warranties for household gadgets. Got so annoying, I had to block the number.

Somebody phoned me about insuring my household gadgets. Honestly, her accent was so thick I couldn’t make out which firm she was pretending to represent. She wanted me to sign up for a yearly plan and then straight away started asking for my bank info. When I requested a proper quote sent by post or email, she said yes. But then she just went on pestering me for my bank details and told me to grab my card or cheque book. It was like she didn't care at all that sharing bank details over the phone is a massive risk for scams.

This has got to be the most hopeless scammer I've come across. Their English was all over the place, and they struggled just to follow their own script, which honestly was rubbish to begin with. If you're trying to figure out whether they're legit or not, good luck - you're left to figure it out yourself!

I let it go to voicemail and when I checked, there was nothing but silence on the message before it ended. Strange how they just hung up so fast.
