The call showed up as from Birmingham. The person said they were with ConsumesWatch UK, claiming they provide 'free' gas and electricity deal comparisons. They mentioned they get paid and said the firm is backed by 'client support'. Their website's contact section is really unclear. It lists a CRN (company registration number) as 'SC595866'. FYI, a CRN should prove a company's legal registration and let you confirm it's listed with Companies House. BUT I couldn't find any trace of this company on Companies House by name or CRN. Definitely looks like a scam to me.
