I called them back but got nothing, complete waste of my time. Definitely a scam, so I’ve blocked the number now.

How on earth are these sorts of people allowed to ring up strangers out of the blue?!

Someone really needs to get a law in place to stop this nonsense.

I rang the number back and got a robotic voice saying, "The number you tried is unrecognised. Please double-check and try again." Sounds like one of those common scams with a spoofed caller ID.

This number keeps calling me all the time, and I just avoid picking up. It's really annoying.

I tried calling back but it just wouldn’t go through, and they didn’t leave any voicemail either.

Got a recorded call about a car crash, claiming they knew about an accident and wanted me to verify the date. Managed to get a live person by replying, ‘If you’re so certain I had an accident, then you’ll know for sure.’ They went on about it being just a simple confirmation call, but when I told them it was an illegal cold call and they were breaking the law, they got all flustered. They started apologising but I told them to delete my number from their list or I’d be taking it further, then I hung up. It’s really annoying to think there are elderly people out there who’ll get duped by this, making it worthwhile for these callers :(

Pretty sure this was one of those dodgy callin' companies looking for people who’ve been in crashes. Something like Smith Care or summat. Definitely felt like an accident claimant scam.
