Got a call earlier from someone who sounded Indian. He said he could help me find a job and asked what I’m earning right now. I’ve got a blocking feature on my phone to stop calls like this but it seems useless. Who are these people anyway, and why is there no way to actually block them?

I had a call from a woman with an accent, saying she was from some guaranteed telecom company. She kept going on about nuisance call blocking and wanted to "verify" my card details for some monthly phone charges. I was struggling to follow her at first, and only after a while did I realise she was fishing for way too much info!

I got a call from someone claiming I had shares I needed to check on. I've had calls like this in the past and they always want you to give out personal info. From what I’ve read online, if you keep talking to them, they'll probably try to convince you to send money to some escrow account. Just sounded dodgy to me.

Somebody called but I didn't pick up and there was no voicemail left. I don’t entertain random calls. Whenever someone gets my number, my assistant lets me know and then I add them to my contacts. If it's a cold caller, they need to leave a voicemail for me to consider adding them. If there’s no message, they just get blocked. Even if they leave a message but it’s not something I’m interested in, I block them too.

They’ve rung me a couple of times today, but as soon as I pick up, they just drop the call.

About 7 times daily they ring me up. I’ve just blocked the number now.

The phone flagged the call as probably spam. I’m getting loads of calls daily from something called National Survey. They say they’re official, but when I tell them to take me off their list, they just cut me off and ring straight back using a different number! Since they always change the number, blocking them is pointless.

Just got another call, prob the 10th time today, and I ended up hanging up straight away. If someone actually picks up these annoying calls, they’re gonna have a right old rant, poor souls. Anyway, I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.
