We've had several calls from this number, which keeps appearing on our caller ID. Every time we pick up, the line gets disconnected immediately. What's the story behind this?

We've received several calls from this number over the past few days. After a bit of digging, I’ve uncovered that it pertains to a company focused on our online directory listing. It seems they could be trying to pitch us a featured listing or something along those lines. If you're keen to return the call, the number to dial is 0121 234 5629.

Being residents of Bristol, we were rather put off receiving a call from someone in Birmingham. We promptly instructed them to relay a message: "Jason has been employed at an advertising agency, though the name eludes us." In the end, she left us a callback number, but it was incomplete: (? What about the rest of) 0121 5629. To add to our confusion, they didn’t hang up properly, leaving us with a few seconds of static background noise instead of a clear message. Quite the bother, really!

I received a call as well, yet there was nothing but the sound of what seemed like a woman tapping away on a keyboard in the background. Honestly, what's wrong with those who are simply lounging about in the office with nothing on their plates? Why can't they just clear off to H. . . . and leave the rest of us in peace? When this was merely the Birmingham Letter newspaper's number, it was a prime example of what we had been cautioning about. Honestly, they ought to slap a grand apology on the front page. Right then, that would do nicely!

Residing in Bristol, it’s a bit puzzling when a number from Birmingham rings us up. We decided to let it go to voicemail. The caller stated they were "Jason" from some advertising company, though we didn’t quite catch the name. To top it off, they left a callback number-0121 5629- but where’s the rest of that number? To make matters worse, they seemed to get distracted and ended up leaving a four-minute garbled recording of background noise. Quite the peculiar experience!

I received a call regarding something I was thinking of listing in the classified ads. I was a tad suspicious about the number, so I decided to return the call. Turns out, it belongs to the Birmingham Mail.
