I picked up the phone thinking it was a genuine call, as I’d never had one from that number before. To my surprise, it was an automated message delivered in a woman’s voice. She claimed that my BT Broadband service was about to be terminated due to alleged hacking. I was instructed to press 1, followed by another instruction that I missed because I immediately had an inkling it was a dodgy call and hung up.
