I got a call from a young Asian woman with a strong accent, saying she was from BT. She started with the usual "Hello, Mr - - - , this is (some English name I can’t remember) from BT, how are you today?" I thought it was probably either a dodgy sales pitch or a scam since I haven’t been a BT customer in over 15 years. Trying to be polite and avoid being rude to a stranger, I just told her, "SORRY, YOU’RE REALLY HARD TO HEAR!" a couple of times. Eventually, she gave up and didn’t ring again, so I guess it wasn’t anything urgent.
