The caller mentioned supposed error messages on the computer but was quickly exposed when the recipient claimed to have proof they were not actually with BT. The caller then disconnected the call abruptly.

I got a call on May 3rd, 2021 from a lady with a South Asian accent saying she was from BT Broadband or something. She wanted to talk to the “main user” and mentioned some errors she claimed I was getting on my PC. I told her I wasn’t having any of it and that I could see, thanks to a gadget BT installed on my line, that she wasn’t really calling from BT at all. She hung up straight away after that.
