Today, I received a call from a chap using a landline in Birmingham who insisted that I switch on my computer because, apparently, my broadband was infected with a virus. He claimed he needed to take control to sort it out. To be frank, he was rather impolite, almost hostile. After hanging up, I rang my internet provider for clarity, and they assured me it was definitely a scam. I can't stand these sorts of nuisance calls!

Got a call from someone claiming my internet was infected and asking me to access my computer so they could sort it out. They sounded quite rude and pushy. I refused to go near my computer and just ended the call. After that, I rang my internet company and they confirmed it was a scam.
