This morning at 9:18, I got a call from this number with a guy asking if I’d been in a car accident. He sounded British, probably in his late twenties to early forties, no noticeable accent, but there was some background noise, maybe an open-plan office or something. Thing is, I haven’t had a driving licence since 2002 and don’t own a car, so I have no idea how I could be the driver involved, like he suggested. Over the past year and a half, I’ve been getting calls like this from different companies all asking the exact same thing. When I tried looking one up, it turned out to be a fake company based in Harpenden.
