I got a call from someone saying they were from EDF Energy, asking for a meter reading. When I told them I already sent it in online, they said they weren’t after the meter reading but wanted to talk to the company director about the most recent bill. I then had a word with them, telling them I checked the number they were calling from and it showed up as a ‘harassment call from British Gas,’ even though this person claimed to be EDF. After that, they just hung up on me.

twice got calls off an asian woman saying she was from the meter reading department, claiming there was something wrong with our meter. she said she worked for british gas, but i told her I'd ring british gas myself to check that out. turns out, she wasn’t with british gas at all, and when i tried calling back the number, it was dead. on her second call, she actually told me to go to hell! honestly, she should maybe listen to her own words!
