I got a random call from someone telling me I qualified for a medical alert system. Totally out of the blue!

this guy from some “investment firm” won’t stop ringing me up, even though I told him i’m not interested and asked him to take my info off their list. he actually said he’d bother me every single day - real pleasant, huh? when i threatened to get the cops involved, he just hung up on me.

I received a rather intrusive call from a representative of this firm who seemed determined to push a rather aggressive sales pitch my way. I swiftly halted the discussion and requested that they take my number off their list. Despite my straightforward request, the individual flatly refused. After some back and forth, I asked to speak to their manager. A woman came on the line without so much as an introduction and immediately inquired about my name and location. I had no qualms about sharing my first name (which they already knew) and mentioned the country I reside in. However, when pressed for a specific address, I politely declined. I reiterated my request for them to remove my number from their database, but she insisted she wouldn’t comply. I pointed out that, upon making such a request, she had a legal obligation to honour it. She then asked me how I would deal with the multitude of other companies that might bombard me with calls. I reiterated that I would once more ask for my number to be withdrawn, and she continued to assert her position, expressing her ambition to become an IT consultant, lamenting that her current situation left her with no alternative but to contact people like me. I reminded her that she could indeed take steps to further her IT aspirations and that I, too, had the right to lodge a complaint with the Telephone Preference Service, with which I am registered. Despite her persistent attempts to belittle me, I finally informed her that I would be recording the conversation. At that point, she hastily hung up.
