I got a call from someone who didn’t tell me their name, claiming I was eligible for some kind of medical alert service. When I asked a few questions, they just ended the call abruptly.

I got a call from 01209 707826 claiming to be from the Medical Alert Company. The guy said I might qualify for a medical alert pendant and started asking about health issues and disabilities in my home, just like loads of other complaints about a similar number in Redruth, Cornwall. When I asked where he got my number, he said “local organisations” had shared it, which sounded dodgy to me. As soon as I told him he’d got all the info wrong, he hung up on me straight away. No sorry or anything, just super rude and clearly a scam.

I've been receiving calls from strangers asking for my bank details, claiming I need to pay just 99p daily for some sort of care alarm pendant. It's rather suspicious, to say the least!

They asked me if I wore a tag on my wrist or around my neck in case I had a fall. After that, they went on about donating 99p daily for two weeks.

Left me a voicemail but never rang back. Pretty sure it’s some sort of scam. They were asking if I have any health issues and brought up a medical alert pendant or something. I’d steer clear. I’m registered with the telephone preference service, so legit marketing companies shouldn’t be able to reach me anyway. Just don’t bother.
