I got a call from an Indian woman claiming to be from Virgin Media. I told her Virgin Media isn’t my provider, but she just brushed it off, saying it’s all the same because all providers use the same lines. Definitely felt like a scam to me, she wasn’t exactly polite either.

Got a call from a guy with a strong Indian accent who said his name was "David" and that he was ringing from Amazon about a £79.99 charge. He told me they'd had a request to take that amount from my bank but put it on pause to see if it was legit or if I wanted to cancel and get a refund. Pretty obvious scam to me since I can check my bank for any pending debits myself, and if someone took money without permission, I'd just get in touch with my bank straight away to sort it out.

What a complete con! Had a rather drawn-out conversation with someone claiming to be from Virgin Media, going on about some alleged hacking of my internet. I entertained him for a fair bit while he elaborated on how ‘Virgin were the sole providers of the internet,’ but apparently they had a secret website for such matters. In the end, when I let him know I’d looked up the address he gave me along with the phrase ‘virgin media scam call,’ he uttered an ‘oh’ and, quite mysteriously, the line went dead. Total rubbish!

Sounded like one of those dodgy call centres from India. They claimed to be Amazon and said I owed £79.99 for a subscription. I asked them how they even got my number since I'm on the TPS register. When I said I didn’t know how many were connected, they threatened to cut off my internet. Then they just hung up on me. Received a rather dubious phone call purportedly from Sky regarding my internet last night, the chap on the line claimed to be ringing from California. It was immediately apparent that he was in a bustling call centre, with an absolute cacophony of chatter in the background. I strongly doubt he was genuinely representing Sky; I told him I couldn’t quite catch what he was saying, so I decided to contact Sky directly instead. At that point, he promptly hung up on me. Seems rather suspicious, doesn't it? I have never had much faith in cold calls and prefer to reach out to the company myself to ensure I'm speaking with someone legitimate.
