My missus picked up the phone and some lady with an Asian accent asked if she was Mrs James. When my wife said no, the woman just hung up straight away. I reckon if it was a proper call, she’d of tried a bit more instead of bailing so quick.

Got a call from a bloke with a heavy Asian accent claiming to be from some outfit called "White Goods Repair" out of Luton. He said my Indesit washing machine warranty had run out and asked if I wanted to renew it. Pretty obvious to me that it was a scam. I played along like the phone’s connection was rubbish, kept him talking until I lost interest, then gave him a right earful before hanging up.

Got called by this same number three days running. First time they claimed to be from Amazon, but the next couple of calls they said it was about renewing a warranty for a washing machine. Bit fishy if you ask me.

Received a call from someone saying they’d cover my boiler under a homecare plan. They already had my full address and name, which was a bit creepy. When I asked them about my existing heating cover and any recent claims, they couldn’t really give me clear answers. Seems dodgy to me, so I’m pretty sure it’s a scam.

This one wasn’t an 02 or 03 number, so maybe the scammers are switching up their game. The bloke on the other end was speaking so fast and unclear I just ended the call. After reading through some other comments, sounds like this is the usual scam about insurance for white goods. A few months back I got a similar call from someone called Martin - though judging by his accent, I’m pretty sure that wasn’t his real name - saying he was ringing from D&G about renewing some insurance. What freaked me out was how he seemed to know my tumble dryer warranty had just run out. He kept going and going, and for some reason I didn’t hang up straight away. It wasn’t until he started asking for my bank info that I clocked it was a con and quickly ended the call.

Got a call earlier saying my washing machine insurance had expired (which I never even bought), and they wanted to renew it for me. I asked them to send the info by post instead. The lady tried to explain more but I said there was no need since everything should be in the letter. Ended the call there. I’m pretty sure I won’t get anything in the mail - scammers rarely bother with actual post. Definitely blocking this number. Yep, total scam.

Got a call from a guy speaking with an Indian accent, trying to sell me insurance for my washing machine. When I said no, he switched to trying to insure other appliances at home. He was quite polite, but never told me which company he was working for. This number has rung me before with similar offers, so I’m suspicious about it.

I got a call from a gentle sounding woman with an Asian accent who asked for me by name. She claimed my washing machine warranty had run out and tried to sell me a new 2-year protection plan. When I asked how she knew my warranty had even expired, she just pushed harder to get me to say yes. I wanted to know where she was ringing from and she mentioned something along the lines of “My Goods Repair.” I kept questioning how she had my warranty details, which seemed to throw her off and she suddenly got quiet. I told her I wasn’t interested and hung up.

While I was at my dad's house, this number rang his landline. The caller left a "Hello" message on the answerphone. Since my dad struggles with hearing, I grabbed the phone to see who it was. When I asked who was on the line, they didn’t reply properly but instead asked if I was Mrs ######. Once I told them I’m his daughter, they abruptly hung up on me. Quite unfriendly behaviour, if you ask me.

Missed the call as it ended before I could answer. Not shocking at all after reading the other reviews - we're constantly getting calls about washing machine warranties lately. I’ve got one sorted already and it’s valid, cheers! Pretty obvious our number’s been passed around to quite a few dodgy firms.

Some woman called me saying my washing machine warranty was up. The thing is, I don’t even have a warranty on it! She offered to renew it for just £6.99. I hung up on her two times, but she kept calling back. Then she tried saying they had a special deal for retirees near me and asked for my birthday. I asked if she already knew I was retired or if she was just making a guess! She was really pushy about it. I ended up hanging up a fourth time and luckily, she didn’t call again after that!

Got a call from someone wanting to talk to another person entirely. I told them they’d dialled the wrong number. The caller was convinced they had the right person and ended up shouting at me. Then, out of nowhere, they threatened to disconnect me if I didn’t answer their questions but didn’t explain what that meant. Eventually, they just hung up.

A lady rang me about my boiler breakdown cover, claiming I hadn’t made a claim in two years. I told her that made sense since I don’t even have that cover. She kept pushing to sell it to me, saying it was something I really needed. I told her I’d managed fine all my life without it. Eventually, she gave up and ended the call. Most daytime calls like this end up being scams anyway.

Just before 10 this morning, I got a call from some bloke called "Leo," who was trying to tell me my warranty on appliances had expired. The washing machine and dishwasher are both ancient, like 18 years or so, so no shock there. I was half asleep when he called, so I just told him to jog on. You'd think by now they'd check their facts before trying that trick again. Honestly, it's been about 8 or 9 years since I last got this rubbish. And of course, they reckon anyone over 70 is daft... typical.

Got a call from someone saying our washing machine’s 2-year warranty was up, which makes sense since it’s more like 25 years old! Then they tried to pitch us a longer warranty for £6.12 a month. The funny thing is, they asked what brand the machine was - if they were legit, surely they’d have that info already. Seems like a total scam, but they did know our name and where we live. Definitely watch out for this kinda thing!

Got a call early this morning and ended up chatting with the woman for a bit, trying to make sense of what she was saying. She was telling me about a free service and callout for my central heating boiler, saying it was because I hadn’t used the service in the first couple of years. I asked her if she knew which boiler I had, but she couldn’t give me an answer. After a few minutes, I told her she seemed to be struggling with the info and I wasn’t really sure this was a legit call.

01209 240239 So, my husband answered this call while I was out since he’s not feeling great. The bloke claimed to be checking up on some insurance for our washing machine. Sounds dodgy to me, especially as we already have insurance sorted with a proper company. As soon as my husband said he wasn’t aware of any insurance and asked him to call me the next day, the guy hung up immediately. Definite scam vibes there.

Got a call on 18/11/21 from someone saying they were with “UK Whitegoods” - I know that company’s a spares supplier up in Scotland. They were trying to get me to renew a warranty on my washing machine, saying it had probably expired by now. No clue how they’d know that! I told them I’d recently added cover through my home insurance and then ended the call. To me, this felt like a scam, like they just want your cash and you get nothing back.

########################## POSSIBLE SCAM OR FRAUD CALL ABOUT APPLIANCE INSURANCE ############################## Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent saying she was with ‘Appliance Fixers’ or something like that. Honestly, couldn’t make out much of what she was offering. She kept pushing to speak over me, which felt weird and not at all professional.
