My mum got a call from this number, she's 85 and I picked up for her. The person on the line sounded Indian, but I didn’t even let them speak, I just hung up straight away. It’s awful that these people are allowed to keep ringing like that. I can’t stop worrying about what could’ve happened if I wasn’t there to answer - my mum has dementia and it’s really scary to think about what might have gone wrong.

Got a call around half past three today from what sounded like an call centre in Asia. They said they were from BT internet, telling me about some supposed Windows junk files that I needed to sort out - classic scam. I played along for a bit before telling them I wasn’t interested and ended the call. As expected, they rang straight back, trying hard to make me believe they were legit. I just cut them off again right away. It’s annoying they don’t stop, but I’m sure someone less wary will end up getting caught out.

I received a call from someone claiming to be from BT's technical support. When I suggested it might be a scam, the bloke on the other end erupted with some foul language, uttering things like, "You f***ing b*tch!" He had a distinctly Indian accent, which made the whole encounter even more bizarre.

Got a call on Friday 17th May 2019 at 11:01 am, and as soon as I picked up, they just hung up. The number showed up when I dialled 1471. Seeing what others have said, it seems like this could be some sort of scam call. I always make sure to report these to the TPS.

I keep getting calls on my landline every single day, but they never leave a voicemail. I’ve told them over and over that we don’t use BT as our provider. They must be pretty thick. I’m glad I never mentioned who our actual supplier is, or they’d probably pretend to be from them too! Don’t really know how to stop the calls though. I reckon they’re just trying to hack into your computer and nick your passwords or bank info.

Got a call from a woman named Olivia Rose, sounded Indian, claiming she was calling from BT Broadband. She wanted me to let her use TeamViewer to “fix” some security issues on my computer. What really threw me was she knew the exact account name, even though it’s meant to be unlisted! She also gave me a made-up manager’s name and nailed the right office address. Little did she know, I work in IT security. Needless to say, she didn’t get far - I’m sure her pay bonus just took a hit today!

Someone called saying my computer had malware and told me to open the event viewer to show all the errors as proof. I got suspicious when they asked me to download AnyDesk, so I stopped there. First, it was a woman with an Indian accent, then a guy claiming his name was Ryan Wilson but definitely Indian too, and later a senior BT manager started yelling down the phone. I was kinda trusting at first, but thankfully my common sense kicked in before I gave them any control.

Got a call from someone saying she was from BT, gave some address like '81 Newgate St London' when I asked where she was from. It was a woman with an Indian accent, called herself Susan, said she needed to sort out my internet problem and asked me to switch on my computer. I told her I wasn’t keen on switching it on if it’s got issues and asked if she could just explain what I needed to do to fix it - she said it was free - and I'd take care of it later. Ended up wasting a bit of her time like that. Not too sure what the scam is exactly but it felt really suspicious.

Over the last few months, this number has phoned me quite a few times, but I usually just let it ring off without answering. Not once did they leave a voicemail. After the initial call, I tried to call back but got nothing but silence. Today I accidentally answered, and some woman with an Asian accent didn’t say what company she was from. She claimed there were problems with my internet, but something felt off. I told her it seemed like a phishing attempt, said goodbye, and hung up straight away.

Got a call from 01208779167 this morning at about 8:40 but didn’t pick up. Later, at 11:55, they tried again. This number has been ringing me for months now, always saying they’re from BT. They keep threatening to cut off my service or say my computer is hacked. I told them to do what they want, I’m switching to a different company anyway. Everytime I hang up, the line just dies. Got a call from someone with a heavy Indian accent, and the name they used sounded totally made-up, pretending they were from British Telecom. I told her straight away I’m not with BT, and didn’t even let her finish before I told her what I really thought of the call. She gave up and hung up pretty quick. It baffles me why BT can’t do more to stop these dodgy calls, especially when I’m paying them plenty. I use the 1572 nuisance call service, but these lot just switch numbers all the time. Got a call from an Asian woman saying she was from BT, telling me my internet connection wasn’t secure. I told her BT ain’t my internet provider, but she just brushed it off, said it didn’t matter.
