Following up on my previous report, I gave the number a ring to try and find out more about the company to report them. (Apologies if this sounds harsh, but that’s just how it went down.) The person who answered sounded like a vulnerable adult who probably hasn’t got a clue their number’s been used in a scam. I’d advise against calling her again because I’m sure she’ll be overwhelmed with calls now. I tried to explain the situation, but I don’t reckon she fully got what I was on about.

Some bloke rang me claiming to be from BT, saying my router had let some malware through, and they needed to access my computer remotely. Of course, I wasn’t about to let that happen. When I said no, he got pretty pushy and rude, which was a bit of a shock. Definitely felt like a scam to me.
