Some woman called saying she was "Emma" from a "Call Blocking Team," telling me my call blocking had expired and offering to set it up again (no doubt charging me) to keep those irritating calls away. She said it’d kick in the next day once I signed up. I kept asking what exactly the service was, who runs it, and when I supposedly had it before, and after a couple of minutes of me pressing for answers, she just hung up on me after around 2 and a half minutes.

Got a call from some bloke overseas but there was a lag when he tried to connect, immediately clocked it as a scam and ended the call. Have blocked the number now.

I received a rather persistent call from a woman named "Jenny," who claimed to be affiliated with the "Call Blocking Department." She informed me that my subscription for their call-blocking service had expired and she was on hand to assist me in getting it back up and running - I imagine there would be a charge involved, but we didn’t delve into specifics. Supposedly, it would take effect starting tomorrow, provided we wrapped up the necessary steps. However, when I began to query the actual service, the provider, and the timeline of my previous subscription, I could sense her impatience growing, and before I knew it, she abruptly hung up after about two and a half minutes.

Got a ring from 01207503114 earlier - pretty clear it was just some scam attempt. Funny thing is, I’m genuinely having some trouble with my internet at the moment, so I played along a bit. Whenever I get calls from dodgy numbers or ones that come through redirect, I use this little chatbot that hunts down the IP and then launches a bit of a DDOS attack on the caller and their network gear. Weirdly enough, as soon as I picked up this call, they lost connection and haven’t tried ringing back since :(

On Thursday 27th February 2020 at about 11.07am, I got a call from this number. The person on the line claimed a BT Engineer was fixing something at the exchange and said there was an issue with my internet. They asked me to check the lights on my router. I told them I wasn’t close to the router and immediately the call ended. Also, just a few days ago, I kept getting calls from someone pretending to be Amazon Prime, telling me my non-existent account was being cancelled. I’ve seen others mentioning this too on the site.

Today, I got a ring from someone claiming to be 'Daisy at BT,' saying my internet router was hacked. When I questioned her and said it sounded like a scam, she tried to defend herself. Then, when I mentioned that I was still on the line, she snapped back with, 'You're really annoying me.' I didn’t recall getting any gift card, so I told them I’d check my Amazon account and asked them to call me back in an hour. After looking through my account, I found no sign of any gift card activity, just as I thought. I don't expect them to ring again. Feels like they were fishing for my bank info to refund the supposed amount on the card.
