Received a call from someone claiming to be from BT who requested to speak with the person in charge of the household. When I mentioned they weren't available, he inquired about a suitable time to ring back. I asked him why he couldn't chat with me instead, and he proceeded to tell me they were promoting an upgrade for our broadband service. I politely told him I was quite satisfied with our current setup, thank you very much!

My spouse is battling leukaemia and I've been spending time at the hospital. It's absolutely disheartening to keep receiving calls while dealing with such a difficult situation. The lack of response feels quite unjust, and it’s frustrating that there seems to be no action taken to address this!

I received a dodgy call that seemed to be from BT, likely from some scammers over in India. Their English was quite muddled, not to mention quite a far cry from proper communication. Best to give them a wide berth and just not pick up! It’s clearly a ruse.

Wasn’t bothered to pick up since it was 8pm, and I knew it couldn’t be someone I know, as they’d just message or WhatsApp me instead. No idea who it was (and don’t buy that story from someone else about a prisoner from some jail with a dodgy spelling), but I reckon it's just another sales call. Most likely, they’re using a number that looks like it’s from the UK, but it’s probably routed through some call centre abroad.

These people are fraudsters claiming to be from BT. I phoned BT myself and they confirmed it’s a scam. The callers refuse to say who they really are. They pretend BT wants to check if they can offer you a better deal on your phone, internet and television bundle. Then they try to find out details like who your current provider is, what plan you have, and how much you're paying. Once you've let your guard down, they start asking for personal information.
