I got a call from someone named Jordan who was trying to sell me a plumbing insurance renewal at £189.99, but I’m just renting, not owning a property, so I told him I didn’t need building insurance. The guy said his name was Jordan. I’ve never heard of this company before. Strangely, he seemed to know my debit card info and even my password somehow. Be very careful if you get contacted by this company or anyone claiming to work for them. The info I saw on my screen suggested the business has actually shut down quite a while ago.

An individual named Thomas Whittaker, who claims to be an Account Manager from YCH Services, rang my 84 year old mum and pressured her into coughing up £139.99 as a cancellation charge for some insurance policy she never even took out! He somehow managed to persuade her by reciting her card information and passwords, which she’s baffled about since she has no clue how he got hold of those at all.

Watch out for scams! If you think you've been targeted, head over to the ‘police.uk’ website and look for the ‘action fraud’ section. There’s a specific page for reporting phishing scams - make sure to read all the instructions carefully. Once you’ve got all the info, submit the scam report straight into their system, adding any links or web addresses you have. This is really important so the police can track how widespread these fraud attempts are.

Totally a scam. They kept ringing my grandparents every quarter of an hour on Friday evening, saying they owed £189 but if it wasn’t paid it’d rise to £400. They did give the card details initially, but then wisely rang the bank to stop the payment. Right after, the company called back asking why the money hadn’t gone through. They wouldn’t talk to me, just my nan who told them she’d be sending paperwork in the post. From a quick Google, it looks like the firm is called Your Homecare Services. Got a ring from this number from some bloke named Leroy, claiming he was with YOUR HOME CARE SERVICES. He was talking about renewing TV insurance and wanted £189.99 for another three years cover. Said it was 3 payments of £63 and that I got a 40% discount since I hadn’t made any claims. Felt daft and gave my card details. After that, rang my bank straight away to stop the payment. So this morning, I got a call from this number, and some woman who said her name was "Emma Gray" told me my TV insurance was about to expire. She said I had to renew for £180 for three years or pay £79 to cancel, and if I didn't sort it right away, the charge would go up to £100! When I asked her to email me the policy and contract details, she said no could do. I told her I'd call back after I had a proper look. Of course, we don't have any such policy or deal with that company. Later, I tried ringing back and left a message asking her to call me, but haven't heard anything yet. I'm thinking whether I should report this to the police but will definitely inform Trading Standards. Typical unsolicited cold call, really shocking behaviour.

Got a call from a bloke who said his name was Leroy and that he was with some Home Care Services. He told me I could get a discount on my payments since I hadn’t claimed for a few years. My 86 year old mum got a call from 01206803106 this morning, 31/08/2021, around 9:29 AM. They pretended to be from her bank and claimed she owed £189.99. Sadly, they managed to take that amount from her card, and on her statement it appears as YHCSERVICES. Quite upsetting really.

Pretty much the same thing happened to me. Someone called claiming to be Julie and said I made a payment on my Barclay credit card, which I don’t even have. She gave me a phone number to confirm it, but it definitely wasn’t my account. If they already had the card number, why did they need to ask for the expiry date? My nan, who’s 97, got a call from this number offering to insure her TV for a year for £189, claiming it was some sort of care service. BT has actually blocked her number to prevent cold calls, plus she’d been sold a similar policy last year which we got fully refunded and made sure her details were removed from their list. I reckon this could be a GDPR violation since she never agreed to any of this. Like other folk have said, she was pretty confused on the call and was given misleading info. Her TV’s probably worth no more than £50, so why insure it? They didn’t ask any of that and right from the start they wanted her bank details without giving her a chance to check with us first. Got a call earlier saying I still owed money on some TV insurance. They wanted me to agree immediately to a three year plan. I asked to cancel it instead, but they said the cancellation charge was higher than the insurance itself. I got a call from someone called Leeroy claiming to be from Your Home Care Services. He told me I supposedly have a five-year contract for my TV, which I definitely don’t. He mentioned that since I haven’t had any service visits in two years, my payments would drop to £66 annually for the next three years, and after that, they’d stop the renewal. Then he said if I refuse to pay, I could cancel but would have to cough up £300 to cover the rest of the contract. Thing is, I’ve never signed anything with them and he even insisted I made the first payment back in May 2019, but I can’t find any proof of that. Plus, he claimed he had my debit card details which would expire in August 2021, which is totally false. He asked me to ring him back on 01206803106 but there’s no chance I’m doing that.

I got a call from this number claiming I’d signed up for a three year TV insurance plan back in 2019 and supposedly paid £99 from a bank account I don’t even use for bills. I actually cancelled an insurance then, but it was with a completely different firm. The woman on the phone, Julie, insisted it was a valid three-year contract, supposedly confirmed by voice recognition on the call. She started demanding more money and got really upset when I told her I had no agreement with them and asked if I could call back after checking my paperwork. 01206803106 My elderly mum got a call from this number, with a bloke claiming to be from a TV repair company. He insisted she’d signed up to a policy back in 2019 after a long chat. The bloke called himself Steven Perry. He tried to pitch a "better deal" but got quite narky when I said no way was I handing out any bank info over the phone, especially since my mum had no idea about any such policy. When I told him she wanted to cancel, he insisted she was stuck in a legal contract! Not sure if he’s legit or not, but I reckon it’s best to be cautious even if they sound friendly and sincere.
