My elderly mum got tricked by someone called Curtis from Homecare services who rang her up and convinced her to pay $199.99 for a yearly appliance warranty. It was definitely a scam.

I got a call from someone named Jordan who was trying to sell me a plumbing insurance renewal at £189.99, but I’m just renting, not owning a property, so I told him I didn’t need building insurance. The guy said his name was Jordan. I’ve never heard of this company before. Strangely, he seemed to know my debit card info and even my password somehow. Be very careful if you get contacted by this company or anyone claiming to work for them. The info I saw on my screen suggested the business has actually shut down quite a while ago.

An individual named Thomas Whittaker, who claims to be an Account Manager from YCH Services, rang my 84 year old mum and pressured her into coughing up £139.99 as a cancellation charge for some insurance policy she never even took out! He somehow managed to persuade her by reciting her card information and passwords, which she’s baffled about since she has no clue how he got hold of those at all.

My dad just forked out £79.99 to these dodgy characters for what turned out to be a complete sham of an appliance cover. I'm ready to lodge a report with Action Fraud and have already notified his bank about this nonsense.

Back in March, a user shared details on how to report scam calls directly to the police. It surely helped a few folks avoid getting scammed. I really recommend having a look through all the comments here - everything you need to know is in them.

Loads of posts on here explain exactly why you really should report every single scam call to the police. I reckon we all get bombarded with these annoying calls and messages ‘cause hardly anyone bothers to report them. Scammers find it easy to trick vulnerable people, and it’s just lining their pockets with easy, untaxed cash.

I rang a family member who’s a bit confused and I reckon it was a cold call. Sadly, they ended up handing over £189 to them.

For months, my elderly mum got nonstop calls that were really threatening and made her feel scared. They tricked her into paying for a fake home care service, telling her she’d signed up for loads of policies with them - absolute rubbish!

Absolute rip off! They rang my grandad, who’s 90, trying to convince him to buy insurance for his telly, saying they were from Sky. Thankfully his carer was with him and she spotted it, calling us straight away since he was reaching for his bank card. Mum rang them back and nearly got caught out too, but thankfully she didn’t. Just hoping they don’t buzz again tomorrow and try the same trick.

This bloke kept telling us we’d get a £100 bonus for being a loyal customer. Then he asked for our card details to supposedly stop a payment from going through. He couldn’t even manage to say our names correctly. When I asked him to send something in writing so we could actually understand what this was about, he just hung up on me. Proper stubborn, wouldn’t listen at all. Felt like he just wanted to get our card info and nothing else.

This bloke called himself Curtis and told me since I've been a loyal customer, my insurance for next year would only be £99. When I told him to just cancel it, he suddenly said it would cost me £203 to do that. Then to top it off, he started reading out a credit card number that wasn’t even mine. Total scam, watch out!

My mum got a call from this firm and ended up shelling out £189 for a TV service she never asked for or even wanted. They’re total scammers. I tried sorting a refund but it’s been a nightmare, they were quite abrupt and unhelpful when I rang them. Still trying to get that money back. Would say steer clear of these lot!

Watch out for scams! If you think you've been targeted, head over to the ‘police.uk’ website and look for the ‘action fraud’ section. There’s a specific page for reporting phishing scams - make sure to read all the instructions carefully. Once you’ve got all the info, submit the scam report straight into their system, adding any links or web addresses you have. This is really important so the police can track how widespread these fraud attempts are.

I got a call and somehow they talked my 93-year-old mum into handing over £189.99 for some sort of service no one understands. I’ve contacted the credit card folks to try and get the money back. The scammers didn’t seem bothered at all by phone guardian or anything like that.

So, I got a call from someone called Jordan Coppin claiming I owed money for TV insurance I never even agreed to. Feeling a bit daft, I ended up paying £79.99 just to cancel it. I really should’ve looked it up online beforehand. The person on the phone seemed really believable and I wasn’t expecting it, so I got duped. Just a heads up to everyone - don’t be fooled like I was!

I've just had a rather unsettling call from a woman named Julie, who reiterated the same threatening message mentioned earlier. She claimed that if I refused to cough up any money, I'd be subjected to persistent calls from her. I made it clear that I wouldn't be handing over any details or funds over the phone and requested to speak with another representative. To my surprise, she responded that if I insisted on that, I’d be speaking to a man who would be much harsher in his approach. Quite an ordeal, if you ask me!

My 89 year old mum just got phoned by YHC Services. They tricked her into giving her card details by saying it was about her TV insurance. Weirdly, they even knew her old phone number! She ended up having £139.99 taken straight from her credit card. Absolutely shocking.

This morning, some scammer called my 87 year old mate claiming she needed to pay £190. They even had her card details and said that money would be taken out soon. She ended up cancelling her card straight away. Then the same person phoned again, and when told the card was cancelled, they started threatening her that now she supposedly owed £500. It’s awful how they push older people like that.

Heads up - this number linked to a group named “YHC” managed to scam £189 out of my elderly family member by tricking them into sharing their bank details. We’ve reported it to the authorities and the bank's fraud team is looking into it now. Still, the calls haven't stopped. Some bloke called Justin from YHC keeps phoning, obviously trying to squeeze more cash out. Be careful with these lot!

Utterly fraudulent behaviour. This caller incessantly troubled my elderly grandparents, pestering them every quarter of an hour on a Friday evening, insisting on a payment of £189 or threatening it would jump to £400. They, unfortunately, provided their card details, but thankfully had the sense to contact their bank and halt the transaction. The company promptly rang back, pressing for answers about the payment cancellation. They wouldn't entertain my request for conversation, and when I, the granddaughter, informed them that relevant documents would be sent, they were less than pleased. A quick search online reveals this outfit operates under the name of Your Homecare Services. I intend to reach out to them come Monday.

Got a ring from this number from some bloke named Leroy, claiming he was with YOUR HOME CARE SERVICES. He was talking about renewing TV insurance and wanted £189.99 for another three years cover. Said it was 3 payments of £63 and that I got a 40% discount since I hadn’t made any claims. Felt daft and gave my card details. After that, rang my bank straight away to stop the payment. Also called YHCS, told them what happened, and got them to cancel it too. Fingers crossed, that’s sorted now. Watch out for calls from this number, folks! 😤

I received a call from someone claiming to be Leroy, representing Home Care Services. He mentioned that I might be entitled to a discount on my payments since I hadn't made any claims for the past few years. Strangely, he referenced my old card number, and in a moment of naivety, I ended up providing him with my new one. After chatting with my daughter, she cautioned me that it sounded like a scam and advised me to contact my bank. Sadly, she was right-£189 has vanished from my account. I feel rather foolish and genuinely hope that others don't fall into this trap.

Its just awful how they pressured me into coughing up £139.99 to end my policy. They said if I didn’t pay, they’d automatically charge me £257! I was silly enough to give them my card details and even the security code from the back. Now I’ve had to cancel my card to stop any more dodgy payments.

I've experienced something quite similar. A woman named Julie called me claiming that I had made a payment using a Barclaycard. The thing is, I’ve never even owned one of those cards! She went as far as to provide me with a card number, which I know doesn’t belong to me. If she already had my number, it begs the question: why would she need the expiry date? I certainly won’t be returning her call, and I’ll be blocking that number straight away.

Received a phone call earlier today regarding outstanding payments for our television's insurance. They insisted that I needed to agree to a three-year policy on the spot. When I asked to terminate the coverage, I was informed that the cancellation charge exceeded the cost of the actual policy! I put the caller on hold to rummage through my paperwork for the insurance documents, but he'd already disconnected by the time I got back.

My dad got a call from someone claiming to be Jordan Coppin from your home care services. They already had most of his bank card info but the last 4 numbers were wrong, so they asked him to confirm them. They kept pushing that he’d signed up for TV insurance 2 years ago and wanted £189 for it. Somehow, they even managed to get past his nuisance call blocker. It sounded really legit, but be careful, it’s dodgy.

I received a call from a chap named Leeroy representing Your Home Care Services, who provided me with the number above. He claimed that I am tied into a five-year contract concerning my television. Apparently, since I haven’t made any service calls in the last two years, they are willing to slash my payments to £66 annually for the next three years, after which they would terminate my renewal automatically. He ominously warned that if I refuse to pay, I could opt for cancellation but would be liable for a £300 fee to cover the remainder of my 'contract'. The thing is, I’ve never entered into any agreement with them, nor do I have any record of such a contract. He insisted that my initial payment was made on 15th May 2019, but I can find no evidence of that whatsoever. He also mentioned that he had details of my debit card, which he claimed would expire in August 2021-completely false information. He instructed me to ring him back at 01206803106. Unsurprisingly, I have no intention of doing so.

My elderly mother recently had a phone call from this number, and she mentioned that the caller was inquiring whether she would consider committing to a three-year television licence. When I questioned her about whether she had shared any bank information, she assured me she hadn’t.

I recently received a peculiar call from this number, claiming that back in 2019, I had supposedly entered into a television insurance agreement for a duration of three years, costing £99. However, this is rather strange as the bank account they referenced isn’t the one I typically use for my financial commitments. In fact, I had already cancelled an insurance policy that year due to its redundancy, and it was through a completely separate company. The caller, Julie, insisted that I had somehow registered for this contract via a voice recognition process. To make matters worse, she was rather confrontational when I indicated that I had no connection with their services and asked if I could get back to her after reviewing my records. She abruptly hung up, stating she would reach out to my bank about the situation. I’ve promptly informed my bank to refuse any payments related to this inquiry.

01206803106 My elderly mum received a call from this number, with someone claiming to be from a television repair service. This chap, who went by the name of Steven Perry, insisted she had signed a policy back in 2019 after an extensive conversation. He was attempting to sell her an improved deal, but when I mentioned that I wouldn’t disclose any bank information over the phone and that she was completely unaware of any such agreement, he became quite irate. I informed him that she wished to terminate the supposed contract, but he asserted that she was legally obligated to it! It’s anyone’s guess whether he’s on the level, but I firmly believe it’s always wise to be vigilant, regardless of how cordial and sincere they may appear.
