Didn’t know the number, but almost picked up since I’m from Colchester. Like always, I looked it up here first. Some reviews are all over the place! I do back the St Helena Hospice nearby tho, which others have talked about. The rest of the strange comments tho, dunno what to make of them.?

They said they were calling from St Helena Hospice, but last time it was Age Concern. Told them it’s a cold call and they didn’t agree, so I ended the call. Then they rang back again. Turns out it’s a call centre in Colchester. The only reason I picked up was cause the number showed as Colchester.

Got a call from a company saying they run a hospice lottery to raise money for St Helena Hospice. Had a look online and it turns out they’re actually run by the hospice, not a third party, and they support other charities too.

Got a call from a guy claiming he was a priest from Nigeria and that he’s trying to trade up his Toyota Avensis for a Maserati within 6 months through some kinda fundraising. He kept asking if I’d be a “reliable power of attorney” for him, said I should consider it. Total scammer, don’t fall for it.

Got a call from an Indian lady trying to get me to join some pensioners swingers club. Said if you’re over eighty, membership is free. Also mentioned free booze on your first visit. Apparently, if you're more than 25 stone, you get free parking when using a mobility scooter. She asked for my card and pin details, which seemed dodgy to me.

Dont bother answering this, its a line for really heavy women, like over 30 stone. It was called some indian chat line for overeaters or something. They want £50 a minute! The woman told me she’d send nude pics for £1000 each time. Total rip off. Scam alert.

Got a call from some cold caller, sounded like a rough bloke with an Italian accent. He said he urgently needs £500,000 for bail and demanded I send £1,000 or else I'd be put on some blacklist. Then he went on about the pope saying a special prayer if I pay up. Total scam if you ask me!

Got a call from someone saying they were with St Helena’s hospice. They went on about how their funding had stopped because of the pandemic and asked if I could donate. I told them about my own struggles with MS and that I hadn’t left the house since March last year because of Covid, so I wasn’t really in a position to help. The caller didn’t seem pleased and hung up after a bit.

Got a call from this so-called hospice lottery that says they’re connected with local hospices. They say only 63% of what you pay actually goes to the hospice, which sounds a bit dodgy to me. Plus, the fact it’s a cold call from some call centre doesn’t really build trust. I’d give it a miss.

its to do with cransley hospice and their lottery. they’re asking folks nearby to join the lottery to support their work. i phoned cransley and spoke to a woman named rachel who manages it, she confirmed it was their calls.
