I received a call on the home phone at half seven this evening. To cut to the chase, the individual on the other end (Chris, who had a distinct British twang) informed me that there's a five-year warranty on our washing machine at £100 annually, and that I could opt to cancel it for a fee of £134. If I chose not to, he ominously warned me about the possibility of small claims court proceedings. My spouse and I are both in the legal profession - a barrister and a solicitor. The outfit in question is FULLY PROTECTED LIMITED, set up in April 2021, and they list their address as 63 Hazledean Road, London NW10 8QT. A complete wreck from what I could see on Google Maps. There seems to be no record of any filings, and the director appears to be one Shanicka Gabault. If this is indeed on the level, I reckon I’m also the Queen of England!
