Those muppets aint ringing me again - sorted that quick. Keep 14258 handy, it blocks the last number that called. Brilliant little trick!

Got a call asking for my missus, I told him she wasnt about and asked what it was regarding. He snapped at me saying it was about some endowment policy, which she’s never had. Wasn’t a nice experience at all.

I've had someone ring me up trying to chat about my finances, mentioning endowment mortgages and bank loans, among other things. I'm not allowed to swear, but it's really getting on my nerves how often this keeps happening. I refuse to discuss personal matters, especially with strangers over the phone. I'm planning to contact the relevant authorities with a formal complaint. I also need to check with the TPS to understand why their supposedly effective system seems to be letting these calls through so easily. I usually just chat with them a bit to keep them busy, then tell them I need to sort something out and ask if they can wait. I’ll pop off and do some housework or whatever for a few minutes. If they haven’t hung up by then, I’ll have another quick word before doing the same again. The more I stall, the less chance they get to try and scam someone who might fall for it.

EMCAS should really be shut down. I spent a few months working there and it honestly felt like pure harassment and daylight robbery. Even if someone wasn’t interested, they’d just be added back onto the call list so others could ring again. I remember the team meetings where they’d joke about “mugging old ladies” - it was grim. Management was awful too, and nobody ever got paid properly or on time. They try to fool you into thinking claiming compensation is complicated and tough, but really anyone can do it themselves without paying a dodgy company like EMCAS half their payout. I can't stress enough how much I despise these kinds of businesses! It’s basically a legal scam to take people’s money after they've already been through something bad, whether it’s a bad investment or an endowment mortgage. EMCAS will send a few letters, figure out what you’re owed, and then slap you with a 49.5% fee. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. Keep well clear!

We've had MCAS constantly ringing trying to speak to me or my partner, even though I've made it clear we're not interested and we've sorted our endowment issues on our own. They don’t take no for an answer, and the guy on the phone turned quite rude and very unprofessional. Got a phone call from someone called Luke, claiming to be from EMCAS, asking for my missus. When I asked what he wanted, he said it was about her old Endowment policy. I just told him, "No thanks," and put the phone down. Funny thing is, the Government only recently said they'd be fining these kinds of calls up to £500,000. Yet they’re still making them! Just to be clear for anyone confused - loads of older folks used to have endowment policies, so if you get a call about one, it doesn’t mean the caller knows anything real about you.

Emcas seems to be pestering people again, quite annoying if you ask me. About a year back, I got loads of calls from these lot. Just last night, someone rang from that number and asked for a weirdly jumbled name. I replied, "No one with that name here." The response was just "Interesting" before they hung up. Got a call from some firm called MCAS, this young guy kept prying about personal stuff related to endowments. When I asked him what business it was of his, he snapped back asking why I was being rude, then started going on about capitalism and how he's just doing his job offering financial advice. I told him flat out I wasn’t interested and to stop bothering me. He was pretty nasty but claimed he’d remove me from their list. I’m not holding my breath on that one! Also, their Exeter office rang me twice today wanting to chat to my husband about something. Honestly, this lot just cause nothing but headaches.

This isn’t a scam or anything dodgy, if you actually ask them, they usually explain where they got your number from - often from these lifestyle surveys that ring you up. The firm calling you is called EMCAS, and they purchase info from companies that collect data on people who’ve mentioned having an investment or an endowment. I got a call from them about three months back, and just recently I cashed a cheque for £18,274.38, compensation from a policy I ended 13 years ago. They were really professional and polite all through the process. Honestly, if people just took a moment to listen, it could lead to some pretty decent rewards.
