It’s pretty clear this is just a scam.

What a load of absolute rot! These chancers insist they’re here to sort out your solar panels, but try ringing them back and it’s like speaking to a brick wall. They don’t even have the decency to let you leave a message! If they had any common sense, they’d find a proper job instead of playing these silly games. Honestly, it’s infuriating!

The company that was supposed to service my solar panels has gone bust, and now another firm is handling all the maintenance. Seems like they're pushing hard to get me to buy a new inverter, which I'm not sure I need.

I received a call from "Travis at Genmar, your local renewable centre." When I inquired, I found out they’re actually situated in Colchester, which isn’t really local at all! He offered to send someone over to assess my loft insulation, but when I requested contact information, he provided his own mobile number (which was different from the one that called me) along with the office number for Green Consulting South, claiming they would furnish me with complete details. Upon mentioning the Telephone Preference Service (TPS), he didn’t know what it was and proceeded to explain that this was merely a “courtesy call,” implying that it wasn’t subject to the usual restrictions. However, I firmly pointed out that to me, it felt like a cold call since there was no prior communication established between us. I’ve decided to see if the TPS can track them down, and if not, I’ll escalate the matter to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
