Totally panicked, I decided to google the number first and found this site plus heaps of others warning it’s a scam. Seems like they trick loads of folks who aren’t expecting it!

I got a robo call from someone saying they were Dennis Grey from HMRC, telling me I'd done something dodgy with my National Insurance and they’re going to take enforcement action. I’ve blocked the number straight away and reported it to the HMRC Phishing Team. Definitely feels like a scam.

I got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC saying I owed taxes and they wanna arrest me and freeze my bank if I didn’t sort it out. Honestly, these scammers need way harsher punishments or jail time. It’s scary how many folks probably fall for this and lose their cash.

I thought it was actually HMRC ringing me, so I wasn’t prepared at all. They started threatening me with court cases and said they’d freeze my bank and property if I didn’t pay. Honestly, it’s just a scam, don’t believe a word they say and just end the call. Sadly, I ended up handing over some money to them.

some bloke said he was from hmrc but his accent was so thick i couldnt make head or tail of what he was saying. i kept asking him what tax dodging he was talking about but he just put me on hold and then the call cut off. tried ringing back without showing my number but it just went to a dead line. anyone else get calls like this should defs report to hmrc straight away!
