Over the past week, I've had this number ring me three separate times. Today, a guy with an Asian accent called and asked how I was. When I tried to find out who he was, he just stayed silent.

Got a call from this number, and the bloke on the other end had an English accent. He claimed there were problems with my internet connection. Since I was having some internet trouble at the time, I thought he might be legit. He guided me through some steps on my laptop, but then asked me to delete some Event Viewer stuff, which I couldn’t find anywhere. After that, he wanted me to open TeamViewer so he could control my computer, and that’s when I just hung up.

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent saying there was some weird activity on my Sky internet. I told him I don’t even have Sky, but he kept going on about issues with their servers. I told him straight up he was trying to con me and ended the call. Seriously, don’t pick up if you see calls coming from India like this - it’s definitely a scam!

I had a rather dubious phone call from a chap sounding very much like he was from Asia. He claimed to be inquiring about my Sky internet setup, insisting that our router was showing error alerts and required their intervention. I politely declined to grant them any access. I'm convinced these sorts of calls are just a front for hackers!

Loads of folks here mentioned someone calling from Sky about internet issues, but I’m actually a Virgin customer so I clocked it was dodgy right away. I just let the bloke go on rambling, telling him the line was terrible and to either speak louder or slower, things he clearly didn’t get. In the end, he just gave up and hung up.

Then he wanted me to switch on my laptop so he could 'check' what was wrong. I didn’t go along with it and started feeling a bit iffy. I asked him why he was ringing if I never reported anything. Suddenly his attitude shifted, got a bit defensive. That’s when I just ended the call.
