Today, I received a rather suspicious call from someone claiming to be with Black Horse Finance. They informed me that I had a refund of £2,500 pending for PPI. I pointed out that I had already dealt with my PPI years ago, so that was quite impossible. Suddenly, their interest vanished! A clear case of a scam, I reckon!

I've just received a rather suspicious call from this number. As a pensioner, I tend to be wary of such things. When I asked who was on the line, the chap informed me that I was owed £2,500 from a PPI claim dating back to 2017. I promptly told him it sounded like a scam, and he promptly hung up. It's disheartening to see the lengths to which some unscrupulous individuals will go to deceive others. Apparently, this number is linked to Bolton, Manchester. Just goes to show, you've really got to keep your wits about you!

They mentioned they were going to deposit a sum of £2,572.00 into my account as a PPI reimbursement. She then asked me to verify which bank I use, but I chose not to disclose that information. Something about the conversation raised red flags for me, and sensing it might be a scam, I decided to hang up after she became rather pushy.

Honestly, I’m so over these annoying calls coming through on my phone, even though I put my mobile and home number on the Telephone Preference Service ages ago! The government - whoever is in charge now - really ought to do something to shut these call centres down. It’s just plain irritating, stressful and exhausting. The people working there clearly don’t care about right or wrong and should seriously find a proper job instead.
