Got a call from what seemed to be a scam, didn't pick up and no voicemail was left on my answering machine.

Got a call on my landline and it seemed a bit dodgy. The lady asked if I live at the address and if we’d had cavity wall insulation done between ages 55 and 82. When I told her I'm 85, she just ended the call straight away.

I got a call where nobody said a word. I just let it stay open for a few mins, thinking maybe the connection would drop or get cut off on its own.

Loads of people on this thread seem to be saying their voices might've been cloned now, which could cause a lot of trouble down the line. This woman with a robotic voice kept saying I had nothing to worry about but wouldn’t tell me the name of her company when I asked again. She just went on like a machine with her spiel until suddenly the call cut out. Definitely spam, totally ignoring the TPS list - felt really suspicious.

There was a lot of silence when I answered, so I finally said “who’s this?” and the line just went dead. Made me wonder if they were trying to get me to confirm something for a scam or just fishing for a yes or my name. Strange call!

I got a call from a lady who said her name was Janet, and she kept saying there was no need to be concerned. She asked if I was the owner of the house, but I just stayed silent. After asking me that a few times with no response, she ended up just hanging up.

Some woman called saying her name was Jackie. She said she didn’t want to alarm me but asked if I’d spotted any damp in my loft. Reckoned it was one of those dodgy 'installation’ scams, so I just hung up straight away.

On 10th June 2026, a call came through from someone named ‘Jackie’ regarding cavity wall insulation. They kept asking me lots of questions, and every time I asked what they actually do, I got no proper answer. Pretty clear it was one of those automated voice systems, and after a bit, it just gave up trying to get me to respond. Waste of my time really.

The number was unfamiliar so I didn’t pick up. When I checked the voicemail, there was nothing but silence and then it ended abruptly.

I just let it ring without picking up, and there was no one on the line when I finally checked, so it really felt like some kind of scam to me.

I got a call where the person kept asking about cavity wall insulation, but I’d already said five times we don’t have any. Then she asked if it had ever caused any breathing issues, which was strange. Even after I asked if she was actually real, she just carried on talking nonsense. I explained again that our house can’t have cavity wall insulation because there’s no cavity in the wall. Next, she started asking if it was a house and if there was a loft, and before I even said anything, she wanted to know how many bedrooms it had. By then I was getting pretty annoyed that she wouldn’t just listen in the first place. I ended up raising my voice, told her the house is fine, doesn’t need anything, and it wasn’t any of her business how many bedrooms were in it. Then she just hung up on me. Honestly, I don’t think she wanted to let me get a word in.

I let it ring out without picking up, so it went to my voicemail. Then suddenly this loud alarm noise started and my phone got stuck for a good few minutes!

I stayed silent for about half a minute, then finally asked who was calling. After that, they just hung up. Definitely a scam try.
