this number called me a couple of times today. It showed up as from Bolton, but whenever I picked up, they just ended the call. I've gone ahead and blocked it now.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from my local council. The number showed as being from Bolton. He started asking if I was aware a particular fee was increasing by £1,000 annually. I felt quite sure it was a scam and just hung up straight away.

Got a call from a lady asking for my partner, using his name. She claimed she was calling from something like "your plan funerals". When I asked her where she got our details from, she just cut the call straight away. I've reported it to the TPS now.

I answered the call and said hello but there was just silence for a moment, then a woman’s recorded voice came on saying “goodbye.” After that, I heard some annoying beep sounds. It was really frustrating.

Some bloke rang up saying he was from the council, and strangely knew the names of people living here. He said he was sorting out ‘your plan’ funerals and gave the name David Simmons. When I asked for his number, he said it was 01204404363, but 1471 showed a different number - 01204896735. Clearly he was fibbing about quite a few things. We've been on the TPS for over 10 years, so this call was a bit dodgy to say the least.
