I've had calls from this number several times over the past few days. When I finally picked up, the person claimed they were ringing about the COVID-19 vaccination and wanted to update my health records, asking if I'd been vaccinated. I told them I was going to look them up on Google to check if they were legit or some sort of scam. They just ended the call right away.

Some bloke called me saying he was checking on my Covid jab records and vaccination pass, then suddenly started pushing me to buy life insurance. I told him straight up that his company was crossing the line by cold calling and pretending to be from a Government department. I also warned him that both he and his firm could face big fines for that kind of behaviour. After that, he just hung up on me!

Watch out, it's a SCAM! If you’ve had one of these dodgy calls, go to Google and search for ‘action fraud’. Then head over to the official ‘police.uk’ website. Find the section where you can ‘report phishing attempts’ and make sure you read everything they say there. After that, put all the details of the scam straight into the police system. This is really important because it helps the police track how bad these kinds of scams are getting.

This guy claimed he worked for some kind of investigation team. I calmly told him to please remove my number from whatever list he had. He just brushed me off and asked why he should bother. I warned him I'd report the number and block him, but he just laughed and said he'd keep ringing me from different numbers anyway.

That threw me off - what’s life insurance got to do with a covid certificate? I asked who exactly they were and for a proper contact number. Then the bloke just started rambling. I told him I wasn’t happy with the call, hung up, blocked the number, and even switched off my phone for a bit, worried he might be trying to scam or hack me since he was so persistent. Oh, and the man had an African accent, sounded like a Black guy, called me Mrs and then used my first name straight after. Shady or what? Wonder what the real deal was?

A person rang claiming to be with the FSB, asking loads of questions about my covid passes, if I’d felt any symptoms after the vaccine, and even about my insurance since apparently the government was involved. As soon as that came up, I just said thanks and ended the call - definitely a scam.

Got this number ringing me up claiming to be from the citizens advice bureau, been getting calls nearly every day for the last three weeks and honestly, I’m over it. I decided to mess around with them on the phone for like 45 minutes, them asking loads of personal stuff which I wasn’t about to give. Eventually, I just told them straight up it was all dodgy, and they got all defensive, trying to push me on security questions. I bluntly told them to quit calling me and they ended up all annoyed and hung up on me hah!

Step Change is a debt help charity, so I find it hard to believe they’d suddenly ring up demanding money like that.

Beware, it’s a SCAM! If you want to help, look up ‘action fraud’ on Google and head over to the police.uk website. Find the page about reporting phishing scams and carefully read everything on there. After that, enter the scam info right into their system. This is how the police get a real picture of how many of these scams are happening. Don’t just ignore it!
