I answered in my usual way, saying "Good afternoon, Inspector Brown from Norfolk police speaking, how can I assist?" but after a bit of awkward mumbling cause I had my hand over the mouthpiece, they just hung up. I tried calling back right away but got nothing, no answer at all. Sounds pretty much like a scam to me.

They keep on calling but never bother to leave a message. Really annoying.

Got a call from some foreign-sounding bloke called "Tommy" who promised he wouldn’t keep me long, just a few quick questions he said. Classic line, right? Typical spiel these telemarketers pull all the time.

I reckon this number’s dodgy. If it was just a simple mix-up, they’d have dropped a voicemail, right? But nope, as soon as it went to voicemail they just hung up. Classic scam behaviour.
