About half an hour ago, I got a call from 01204783648 where the person pretended to be from Virgin Media. He said my router was having issues and might be hacked, asking me to reset it and update my details. I said I didn’t have an internet connection, since I thought it sounded fishy. As soon as I said that, he dropped the call. Afterwards, I rang Virgin Media myself, and they confirmed the number was definitely part of a scam.

I got a call from someone saying they were from Sky, claiming my wifi router was hacked and that I needed to reset it and update the password. The person was speaking with an Indian accent and kept insisting they weren’t a scammer, even mentioning they knew about “scammers in the UK” but hinted they were actually based overseas. It felt really dodgy, like they were definitely from somewhere in the Indian subcontinent. Seemed totally fake to me.
