I've been receiving phone calls from different numbers claiming that my line is about to be severed due to non-payment. It's clearly a scam since I'm with Virgin - they keep insisting it's BT.

I got a couple of phone calls purporting to be from BT, both from individuals with Indian accents. They claimed there was an issue with my open route internet connection and insisted they needed to disconnect it. When I mentioned I was with Virgin, they really took offence, swore at me, and abruptly ended the call. Quite a shocking experience!

Received five calls from this number over the span of two days. The caller claimed to be from my internet service provider. I informed him that I recognised it as a scam. Haven't heard a peep from them since!

I just had a right old chat with a chap from India who insisted that there was an issue with my router. I didn’t entertain him for long and hung up the phone. Honestly, BT ought to put a stop to these calls!

This call was clearly dodgy. Initially, I received a so-called call from "Daniel Jones" with a thick Indian accent, purporting to be from BT, saying there was an issue with my router. I questioned him, noting that my router is actually with Virgin Media, not BT. I mentioned my background as a software engineer, making it clear that I was well aware of their ruse. I warned him that if he was found to be fibbing, I would file a report with the authorities. He then resorted to cursing, which just confirmed my suspicions. Not long after, another caller rang from the same number, this time a woman claiming to represent Virgin Media. When she handed me back to the man after I didn’t comply with his nonsensical directions, I pressed him for his location. There was a pause, during which someone in the background mumbled "BT." He started hurling insults, I retaliated, and he promptly hung up.

ABSOLUTE CON! I urge everyone not to fall for this nonsense. They claimed there were issues with my wireless router and that they were getting error alerts. I swiftly ended the call. Just moments later, the same bloke called again, asking if we got disconnected. I inquired about my internet provider, and he said Talk Talk-complete nonsense! I told him outright that this was a scam and hung up once more. It's rather amusing that he hasn't tried to contact me since then.

I strongly advise against switching on your computer when they request you to do so. It’s an obvious scam call trying to trick you!

This outfit has bombarded us with five calls today, all under the guise of providing assistance for our internet services. Even after making it crystal clear that we're not keen, they just wouldn't take no for an answer. By the fifth call, I demanded to speak to a supervisor, and lo and behold, they simply hung up on me! I'm crossing my fingers they won't ring us up again, but I won't hold my breath. I’m also looking into blocking their number through my mobile provider.

I received a call earlier from a lady with an Indian accent, claiming to represent my internet service provider. I mean, fair enough, but she didn't even bother to identify herself, which immediately raised my suspicions. Then she mentioned that my router had apparently downloaded five virus blocks. I was quite sceptical, and thought to myself, "Oh really?" It didn’t sit right with me at all. She insisted I needed assistance and asked if I could sit in front of my computer. I firmly replied, "No." When she probed, "Why not?" I simply told her it was clearly a scam. That’s when I hung up, and amusingly enough, she seemed to lose interest right then and there!

I received a call from someone with a rather unusual accent claiming to be from Microsoft, stating there were issues with my internet connection. They insisted that I grant them access to my computer to fix supposed outdated drivers. I urge everyone to be cautious-it's a scam! Microsoft or any Windows representative would never reach out via phone like that. Just don't let them in; it's not worth the risk!

I received a call from a chap who had an accent that didn't sound local, claiming to be from my internet service provider. He talked about some dubious activity linked to my account and insisted that I power up my computer so he could remotely check it out. Sounds shady to me! Definitely a scam-don't fall for it!
